A taste at FedEx Cup Glory is up for grabs when the PGA Tour takes itself to the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
With a host of chances in winning positions, the BetDeluxe team hones in on the best picks.
Jon Rahm
Spaniard champion Jon Rahm will be eager to cap his stellar season with a trophy as well as a massive multi-million pay cheque should he win this tournament.
The 26-year-old has dominated all year, posting 14 top-10 finishes for 21 events, including his past five.
He leads the Tour in scoring average and ranks second for greens in regulation highlighting how well his approaches have been all year.
He has never finished lower than 12th during four attempts at East Lake, but hits this tournament in career-best form.
His only win this year is the U.S. Open, but he had to pull out with a six-stroke lead at the Memorial and his T-9 at last week’s BMW Championship was his lowest finish since mid-May.
Suggested Bet: Jon Rahm win at $3.10
Dustin Johnson
Fully expect American shotmaker Dustin Johnson to put his best foot forward in an attempt to defend his title.
The 37-year-old world number two has had an off year by his lofty standards.
He has not had a victory since his Masters triumph back in November 2020, but it must be noted that he does take a liking to the East Lake course.
His 11-under 269 last year to win the title at 21 under overall was his best ever performance as the event with a third place finish in and he was third in 2018 at 7 under.
He boasts six top-10’s in 11 events in Atlanta and has finished in the top 10 in three of his past five events.
Ranking second on the tour for scoring average (69.644) shows us he is in with a gamblers chance at double figure odds.
Suggested Bet: Dustin Johnson at $10.50
Tony Finau
Tony Finau is in with a great chance to take out this tournament.
He is currently tied for 10th in this field with 16 career rounds played at East Lake GC and has averaged 2.06 strokes gained on the field per round at this venue to rank tenth among the 30 golfers in attendance.
He has just one win this season (and since 2016), but he has three runner-up finishes and three other top-10 showings in 21 events in 2021.
He needs to make up just 2 strokes over four rounds to force his third playoff of the year.
Probably represents better value than Rahm given he is closer to the lead than the current favourite.
Suggested Bet:Tony Finau at $5
