The Wizard of Odds takes his wisdom to the east of Victoria for the second Sunday running when Moe hosts thoroughbred racing.
We know he loves finding a first starter to make a winning debut with a filly looking a likely type.
Moe Race 1
#5 Belle Et Riche
Belle Et Riche has conjured up two solid jumpouts in the lead up to this 1114-metre debut at Moe.
The three-year-old filly from the Mitch Freedman stable kicked off her campaign with a fifth place finish at the Cranbourne jumpouts, but was making significant ground after the post
Barrier five on debut represents a great chance to find a spot handy near the lead speed.
She is by the speedy sire Rich Enuff and can make an impression in this race.
We get the each-way price to see if she can run a hole at the very least.
Suggested Bet: Belle Et Riche each-way at $7.5 the win and $2.25 the place.
moe race 3
#2 Holt
Holt gets all the favours in this race with a perfect speed map that is set up with him leading easily.
He did exactly that last start when finishing second as as an odds-on pop at Pakenham a fortnight ago, but he did bump into a smart one called Bifrost.
Young apprentice Carleen Hefel takes the ride for nifty trainer Enver Jusofovic.
The instructions for her will be simple; find the lead, kick clear at the top of the straight and win.
Only real danger is Runaway River, but she has plenty of convictions.
Suggested Bet: Holt win at $2.2
Suggested Exotic: Exacta – 2 & 8
Moe race 6
#9 Grazie Mille
Grazie Mille scorched home down the outside at Sandown last start in BM-64 grade over the mile to finish third at long odds.
The seven-year-old mare looked in poor from prior to that effort, but she rebounded strongly and looks set to run a cracker here.
She is one of the only horses in this field to have had a recent city run and only has to lug around 56.5kgs, which is a 1kg weight increase from a much harder race last start.
Craig Newitt will ensure she is guided around the track without being impeded during the run.
She has one win from one start at the track and fully expect her to run closer to favourite or even be the favourite for the race.
Suggested Bet: Grazie Mille win at $4.8
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 9/ 1, 3, 8/ 1, 3, 8
Moe Race 7
#3 sTradari
Stradari was crushed in the betting last start at Warrnambool when being $6.5 into $4.4 within the blink of an eye only a handful of minutes before he jumped.
His effort, despite being beaten by two lengths, was laudable considering he had a month between runs and was stepping up to BM-64 grade on a heavy track.
Comes back to BM-58 level here and gets Billy Egan to pilot him around the track.
He is drawn to get a nice spot, midfield with some cover and then find the lanes up the middle of the Moe straight.
Step up to the mile is perfect for him.
Suggested Bet: Stradari win at $3.7
