Ballarat Tips & Previews, Friday 6th August

We head to Ballarat synthetic as The Wizard of Odds takes us through the best bets on the card.

Ballarat takes us into a big weekend of racing ahead of its nine-race card from the synthetic surface.

The Wizard of Odds goes through the best bets on the program.

Ballarat Race 1

#12 Title Shot

Title Shot will run a much improved race here than she did on debut.

She raced on a very testing track back on July 22 after some nice jumpouts which indicated she had ability far better than maiden grade.

Expecting her to show natural fitness improvement from that debut run as well and that should see her come on at least another length or two.

Seems a pretty generous price here considering how well backed she was a fortnight ago.

Each-way all day.

Suggested Bet: Title Shot each-way at $7.5 the win and $2.60 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 3 & 12

Ballarat Race 2

#11 Tayla's MOment

Tayla’s Moment should be breaking her maiden status today after a good enough upon resuming from a spell a month ago.

She ran admirably behind Shame for Fame and Umgawa at Bendigo who then both came out and ran well at their next starts.

The three-year-old filly has had a freshen up to get her ready for this race and Damian Lane remains in the saddle.

Getting back onto the dryer surface of the synthetic track should help her cause immensely and she will not have to do too much work from the barrier.

Suggested Bet: Tayla’s Moment win at $3.6

Ballarat Race 4

#6 Valentino's On

Valentino’s On is ready to find the winning post in first place after some respectable runs to begin her career.

Her most recent effort was a ninth place finish when starting a $4 elect over 1400 metres at Ballarat on the turf surface.

She raced on a heavy eight track and it looks as though she did not handle the wet going.

Has since had a trial on the synthetic over 1100 metres to get her ready for this assignment and she seemed to handle the going with great purpose.

Draws barrier one which should allow Ben Allen to get a perfect cart into the race behind the leaders.

Suggested Bet: Valentino’s One win at $4.80

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 6, 9, 11

Ballarat Race 6

#3 Design Rogue

Design Rogue will run a better race than he did last start when being outclassed in the Mildura Cup.

He ran ninth lengths behind the smart mare Sierra Sue on what was a fairly soft track.

Wet conditions are usually not his go but he gets onto the synthetic track which he craves at this time of the year.

His record on this surface reads 10 starts for four wins and four minor placings.

Dean Yendall hops aboard and expecting him to run a good race at each-way odds.

Suggested Bet: Design Rogue each-way at $6.5 the win and $2.15 the place.

Suggested Bet: Trifecta – 3, 8/ 3, 7, 8/ 2, 3, 7, 8
