The Group 1 Doomben Cup is the feature event this Saturday in Queensland! Can anyone stop the flying Pride Of Jenni who is arguably in career best form?

Doomben Race 7

#3 Soverato

Soverato oozes class. Her effort in the Adrain Knox was superb, and she was good without troubling the scorers in the ATC Oaks. She should be rock-hard fit after a lengthy campaign, and the softer conditions are advantageous. Dismiss the talented filly at your own peril!

Chispa has plenty of improvement to come. Her performances to date are first class, and she deserves her shot at this level on Saturday. The key booking of James McDonald should raise eyebrows, and she has been smashed since acceptances were finalised. Her racing pattern and style always requires an element of good fortune.

Suggested Bet: Soverato @ $7.00

Doomben Race 8

#1 Half Yours

Half Yours is set to peak. The Melbourne Cup Champion finds a more suitable trip third-up from a spell, and he strips fitter as a result of recent racing. The softer track conditions are advantageous, and the tsunami of early money indicates another bold showing. I suspect his best performance here would prove too fences and panels too strong for his rivals, and I am confident his camp are mapping out a loft spring preparation. The real deal!

Pride Of Jenni is a warrior. The rising nine-year-old is flying at present, and her latest performance on the Gold Coast was tasty. The 2000m is ideal at this stage of her campaign, and she meets the usual suspects. The give in the track will suit, and I suspect Doomben will suit her electric racing pattern and style. She will look the winner as they cut the ribbons!

Suggested Bet: Half Yours @ $3.00

#4 Sweynesday

Sweynesday can run a race at a decent price. The classy New Zealand sprinter looks ready to peak, and his recent effort in the Takeover Target Stakes at Gosford puts the writing on the wall for Saturday. If the track continues to deteriorate his quote will shorten significantly, and his international form can’t be ignored. Jumping from another suburb is the biggest deterrent.

Abounding is ready to fire after producing several teasing performances for the campaign. The Rich Enuff mare finds her ideal conditions, and she meets easier opposition. Her record at this stage of her campaign speaks volumes, and she is a must for all broader multiples and exotics. Her recent winning record is the primary concern.

Suggested Bet: Sweynesday @ $13.00

Royal Randwick Race 7

#11 King Of The Sea

King Of The Sea is ready to explode third-up from a spell. The Sea The Moon gelding should eat up every inch of the 2000m, and the current track conditions play into his favour. The Ciaron Maher factor will play a role, and I suspect the big boy has been trained to the minute for his third-up assignment. It may pay dividends to watch for any significant market support. Ready to win!

Black Run is over the odds. The Archibald trained galloper has been ok without threatening in both performances this campaign, and a win here at a decent price wouldn’t surprise. The longer trip suits, and I suspect his has been a long-range target from the yard. The length of time out of the winner’s enclosure is the primary concern.

Suggested Bet: King Of The Sea @ $3.80

Royal Randwick Race 8

#13 Glad You Think So

Glad You Think So was a brilliant last-start winner. The So You Think gelding put a similar field to the sword a long way from home, and I suspect he can continue to improve with several runs under his belt. Two barrier trials should have in tip top shape for this assignment, and he has been specked at a price. Hard to toss with even luck in running!

Shadizi is coming off a forgive run in the Scone Cup. The Siyouni gelding resented being cramped for room when the whips were cracking, and I suspect the camp will be out for redemption on Saturday. The consistent galloper finds a winnable assignment, and I expect him to figure in the finish with a change of fortune. In the mix!

Suggested Bet: Glad You Think So @ $5.00

Royal Randwick Race 9

#1 Lyles

Lyles can resume a winner. The Exceed And Excel gelding is building an impressive career record, and I suspect he can reach some loft heights over the coming months. His record at the distance must be respected, and he is a first-up specialist. The inside draw is advantageous, and he looks the likely leader on paper. Hard to toss!

Snack Bar has been turning heads at the jump-outs. The Frosted gelding looks poised to strike fresh, and his opening quote has been more than nibbled at. The shorter trip suits, and his record first-up from a spell must be respected. Hard to beat, however; he tends to find one or two better at the pointy end of a contest.

Suggested Bet: Lyles @ $3.20
