Wednesday Best Tips & Previews, May 13th

Kensington and Bendigo headline Wednesday racing, with competitive fields, strong prizemoney and quality mid-week action at both venues.

Kensington and Bendigo are the feature meetings this Wednesday. With competitive racing expected at both venues, and with plenty of prizemoney on offer, mid-week racing has never looked so good!

Kensington Race 4

#1 Oso Spirited

Oso Spirited looks extremely well placed here. The Charm Spirit mare meets easier opposition, and her current form is delicious. The 1800m is ideal at this stage of her campaign, and I expect her to pilot the field with a clean break from the barriers. The Waterhouse factor must be respected, and her opening quote has folded faster than superman on laundry day. She will look the winner as they cut the ribbons!

Nasebah makes her Australian debut for the Waller camp. The Kingman mare oozes class. and I suspect her best performance here could prove fences and panels better than her key rivals. A recent jump-out looked ominous, and she has been specked at a price since acceptances were finalised. I would prefer to support her case further and more deeply in her preparation.

The Big Blue can threaten with even luck-transit. The Ocean Park gelding is too consistent to dismiss, and he maps perfectly to figure in the finish. His versatility alone puts him into the mix, and he looks like a great value either way. His overall career winning record, and the carpark draw are among the primary concerns.

Suggested Bet: Oso Spirited @ $3.20

Kensington RACE 5

#1 Affermato

Affermato looks dangerous on the quick back-up. The talented five-year-old gelding meets easier opposition, and I suspect he is ready to explode on Wednesday. The 3kg apprentice claim helps his chances, and the current track conditions give him a leg-up. The early money at the cricket-score odds tells a story, and this looks like his moment in the sun. Ready to spring an upset!

November Air is flying at present. The Pierata mare has a significant turn of foot, and she towelled up a handy field at her latest outing. The middle gate is advantageous, and she looks the likely leader on paper. She should be rock-hard fit after a lengthy campaign, and I expect her to fight out the finish. The class rise is the primary concern.

Stay Tuned was good without winning fresh at Newcastle first-up from a spell. The Prized Icon gelding strips fitter as a result of recent racing, and the inside draw brings him into all winning calculations. The 3kg apprentice claim could prove a training masterstroke, and his record at the trip must be respected. Acid test!

Suggested Bet: Affermato @ $31.00

Bendigo Race 5

#4 Strangethingdesire

Strangethingdesire looked good when winning on debut. The Russian Camelot gelding put a handy field to the sword at Geelong, and I suspect he can rise through his grades over the coming months. The trainer has an impressive winning strike rate when he brings his runners to Bendigo, and his opening quote has been more than nibbled at. The longer trip suits, and I suspect it will pay dividends to follow him moving forward, regardless of the result on Wednesday. Big watch!

Pearl King will have plenty of supporters after producing an eye-catching first-up performance behind a smart one. The 1600m suits at this stage of his campaign, and the current track conditions suit to a tee. The inside draw is advantageous, and he strips fitter as a result of recent racing. His racing pattern and style always requires an element of good fortune.

Shes Pretty Rich will start race favourite after a consistent campaign to date. The form around her has stood up time and again, and she meets easier opposition on Wednesday. The mile suits, and she should be rock-hard fit after a lengthy campaign. She tends to find one or two better at the pointy end of a contest.

Suggested Bet:  Strangethingdesire @ $7.50

Bendigo Race 8

#5 Lethal Thoughts

Lethal Thoughts is racing well at present. The So You Think gelding hasn’t missed the trifecta in all his preparations, and he deserves his shot at this level on Wednesday. The 3kg apprentice claim puts one hoof on the till, and he finds his pet distance. I suspect he has the fitness edge over most of his rivals, and his opening quote has been well received. Hard to toss!

Yam can resume a winner. The Pluck gelding impressed punters during the summer, and he finds a friendly assignment first-up from a spell. The big boy is a 1400m specialist, and the inside draw puts him into all winning conversations. The 3kg apprentice claim is advantageous, and he is a must for all broader multiples and exotics. In the mix.

Nearing Liberty looks well placed in this company. The Impending gelding is ultra-consistent, and his exposed form reads incredibly well for this event. The consistent five-year-old has won at the track previously, and I suspect he can take the next step in his career this campaign. Dismiss at your own peril.

Suggested Bet: Lethal Thoughts @ $18.00
