Warwick Farm and Geelong are the places to be this Wednesday. Find out below who our experts are expecting to take home the mid-week cash!
Warwick Farm Race 5
#1 Wondereach
Wondereach looks ready to win. The big boy was grabbed in the shadows by a smart one at his latest outing, and he strips fitter as a result. He is a specialist at the trip, and the 3kg apprentice claim puts him into all winning conversations. The inside draw is advantageous, and his opening quote has received strong support. Hard to toss!
Fine Vintage is a model of consistency. The Supido gelding is always thereabouts, and he finds a winnable assignment on Saturday. The 2kg apprentice claim could prove deceptive, and the current track conditions suit to a tee. The middle gate will provide his pilot with multiple options in the run, and he has been well-supported in most all-in markets. He tends to find one or two better at the pointy end of a contest.
Ningaloo Star can resume a winner. Her trials leading into her first-up assignment have been first-class, and I suspect she is cherry ripe for a first-up tilt. Her form before a spell is better than it reads in the bible, and a victory here wouldn’t surprise. Her recent winning record and tricky gate are among the primary concerns.
Suggested Bet: Wondereach @ $8.50
Warwick Farm RACE 7
#4 Bryant
Bryant is racing well at present. The Brutal gelding has won two of his three outings this campaign, and he meets the usual suspects on Wednesday. The progressive three-year-old possesses a savage turn of foot and has won at the track previously. The 1200m is in his wheelhouse, and the camp are training winners for fun at present. His racing pattern and style always requires an element of good fortune.
Zouripper caught the eyes of punters first-up from a spell at Wyong. The Zoustar gelding hit the line with purpose, and he looks untapped. He finds his pet trip here, and the early market support indicates another bold showing. The inside draw is advantageous, and he always performs well at the track. if he can find clear air as they run for the doctor, he will figure in the finish.
Unstopabull is racing better than his form indicates. The Russian Revolution gelding is always thereabouts, and his best performance here could be fences and panels better than his rivals. His exposed form tells a story, and he looks favourably placed dropping back in grade. He needs to put another victory on the board!
Suggested Bet: Bryant @ $7.00
Geelong Race 5
#9 Upstage
Upstage has one hoof on the till in this event. The Toronado Filly savaged the line late at Kyneton behind a smart one, and the form out of the race has already produced multiple winners. The step out in trip is ideal, and I suspect she has stripped fitter as a result of her mouthwatering first-up performance. I expect her to settle closer to the speed from the middle gate, and the tsunami of early money is too significant to ignore. The one to beat!
Brutal Tempo was good on debut without winning. The Brutal gelding could have won the event if he had run straight, and I suspect he has taken great benefit from his race day experience. The 1400m looks the logical progression, and he will get the last crack at the field with plenty of pace predicated on the bunny. He needs to bring his best manners!
Hellfire Bay is over the odds. The Hellbent gelding should be rock-hard fit with several runs under his belt, and he finds a winnable assignment. I suspect the seven furlongs will suit the big boy to a tee, and he looks well placed in this company. If he can put all of his potential and ability together for four quarters, he can upset his more fancied and credentialled opponents.
Suggested Bet: Upstage @ $2.60
Geelong Race 7
#3 Blistering
Cadillac Sam represents great each-way. The Zoustar gelding was good fresh without threatening at Pakenham before getting the cash in fine style second-up at Cranbourne. The 1500m won’t pose any problems, and the Chris Waller polish must be respected. A peak performance for the campaign is just around the corner, and he looks progressive. Watch for him late!
Vianarra has been racing in a better grade. The drop-in class suits, and this looks his easiest assignment for quite some time. I suspect he has the fitness edge on the majority of his rivals, and the inside draw puts him into all winning conversations. The inform and resurgent Craig Newitt takes the mount, and his double-figure quote has been pecked at. Over the odds!
Ioane can run a drum at a price. The Savabeel gelding is super honest, and he looks well placed at the Benchmark 62 level. The grandstand weight is water off a duck’s back, and he looks the likely leader on paper. If he can cheat the clock throughout, the fat lady may be in full song before heads turn for home. Acid test.
