Warwick Farm and Sandown Hillside are the places to be this Wednesday. Find out below who our experts are expecting to take home the mid-week cash!
Warwick Farm Race 5
#2 Freight Train
Freight Train can run a cheeky race. The Shamus Award gelding motors fresh, and he is a 1600m specialist. The inside draw puts one hoof on the till, and the yard is airborne at present. The current track conditions suit, and he looks the class runner of the field. The 60kg is he is biggest challenge.
Spanish Blaze was good first-up at Sandown. The Phoenix Of Spain gelding looks extremely well placed in this company, and I suspect his best performance here would be fences and panels too good for his rivals. His camp are training winners for fun at present, and I suspect he has been trained to the minute for this assignment. His racing pattern and style are among the primary concerns.
Saint Emilion is ready to explode. The Snitzel gelding is building towards his next victory, and he finds a winnable assignment. This is arguably his best trip, and the flood of early money tells a story. His versatility alone put his into winning conversations, and he is drawn to perfection. He may need some luck getting off the dulex as they run for the doctor.
Suggested Bet: Freight Train @ $6.00
Warwick Farm RACE 7
#4 Polyglot
Polyglot is ready to score. Both runs this campaign have been good without winning, and I suspect he has been trained to the minute for his third-up assignment. 1100m is in his wheelhouse, and I expect him to put this field away with authority on Wednesday. A wet track would be a bonus, and I am confident his quote will continue to shorten before the barriers open. The one to beat!
Fine Vintage looked good when winning at Canterbury two starts back. The Supido gelding was ok without winning at his latest outing, and the form out of that particular contest has already produced several winners. The 3kg apprentice claim puts him into all winning calculations, and barrier two should allow him to occupy the box-seat throughout. Dismiss at your own peril
Sweethearted is racing better than it suggests in the bible. The Brave Smash gelding has arguably the best exposed form in the race, and a victory here wouldn’t surprise. Finishing on the heels of Group 1 placed Gallant Son speaks volumes, and he is a must for all broader multiples and exotics. Can win with even luck in-transit.
Suggested Bet: Polyglot @ $4.00
Sandown Hillside Race 5
#3 Paltrow Miss
Paltrow Miss resumes with an air of expectation. The Circus Maximus filly debuts for the Ciaron Maher camp, and her only performance to date was a winning one across the ditch. Her jump-outs leading into Wednesday’s assignment have been first-class, and the tsunami of early money speaks volumes. Take on trust.
Eco Force is knocking on the door. The Cosmic Force filly has been good without winning all campaign, and I suspect her next victory is just around the corner. She has the fitness edge on the majority of her rivals, and she finds a winnable event here. Barrier one puts her in the mix, and her camp are flying at present. Acid test!
Gold Coast Belle was an impressive last-start winner at Seymour. The So You Think filly comes to town up and about, and I suspect the step out in trip will suit her at this stage of her career. The middle gate will allow her to sit closer in the run, and she looks well placed in this company.
Suggested Bet: Paltrow Miss @ $4.00
Sandown Hillside Race 7
#3 Crocodile
Crocodile looks more suited dropping back to mid-week level. The form around him is rock-solid, and he meets easier opposition here. The inside draw is advantageous, and the 1800m is right up his alley. The current track conditions suit, and he has been met with great support early doors. Hard to toss!
The progressive Roulette King is chasing a hatrick of victories after producing a gutsy win at Ballarat. The Casino Prince gelding makes his own luck on pace, and I suspect a victory here could catapult him into some lofty events during the autumn. The inside draw will allow him to roll forward, and if he can cheat the clock throughout, he will look the winner as heads turn for home. Big watch.
Valiant Sun is racing well at present. The Autumn Sun gelding was a stong first-up winner at Colac, and he was game in defeat in a hot form race at Pakenham. The drop in trip could prove deceive, and a win here wouldn’t surprise. Biggest challenge to date, however; can figure at the point end of the contest with even-luck in running.
