Midweek racing returns to Flemington and Warwick Farm this Wednesday! With the silly season in full swing, find out who our experts are expecting to take home the cash from ‘Headquarters’ and ‘The Farm’. Merry Christmas!

Flemington Race 4

#5 Entremet

Entremet is ready to win. The Magnus mare savaged the line late first-up at Traralgon, and she looks well placed in this company. The apprentice claim is advantageous, and her record at the trip must be respected. She is a winner previously second-up, and she is drawn to get a perfect cart into the race. Each way, all day!

Rotokura will have supporters after a consistent preparation to date. The Cable Bay gelding strips fitter after his recent outings and the step out to the 1100m looks ideal third-up from a spell. I suspect this has been the target race for the preparation, and with even luck in-transit, I expect him to figure in the finish. I am unsure the inside draw is advantageous for his racing pattern and style.

The Reluctant Star was a brilliant debut winner at Geelong. The Epaulette gelding looks talented, and I suspect there is plenty of natural improvement to come for the preparation. He will drift back and watch the race unfold, and if he handles the long Flemington straight, he can continue the perfect start to his racing career.

Suggested Bet: Entremet @ $7.00

Flemington RACE 7

#3 Najem Suhail

Najem Suhail is a crowd pleaser. The Starspangledbanner gelding burns the candle at both ends of his races, and he is a stunning sight for racing fans and punters. His efforts during Melbourne Cup week were visually spectacular, and he is super genuine and honest. He will roll forward over his favourite distance and look the winner at the clock tower. Hard to toss!

Rich Fortune is ready to peak. Both performances this campaign have been good without winning, and she looks ideally placed with 54kg on her back. The Rich Enuff mare is no stranger to the five-furlong scamper, and if she can get some cover from the wide draw, she can loom to win late.

Generation is too consistent to pot. The Snitzel entire always runs a good race and meets easier opposition on Wednesday. He should be rock-hard fit at this stage of his preparation, and he traditionally performs well at headquarters. His recent winning record is the primary concern.

Suggested Bet: Najem Suhail @ $3.00

Warwick Farm Race 6

#9 Shaken

Shaken looks the good thing of the day on a tricky program! The I Am Invincible filly resumes after a successful winter campaign, and her recent barrier trials leading into this event have been first-class and effortless. From the middle gate, she will roll forward and pilot the field, and if she can control the tempo throughout, I am unsure they will get near here. Plenty of upside!

Impactfull Miss caught the eye first-up at the track. The step out in trip is ideal, and she has been absolutely crunched in early betting. The 2kg apprentice claim could prove the winning difference, and her best form reads well for this moderate Benchmark 72. Her second-up record is the biggest deterrent.

Euros is ready to peak. The Capitalist mare has given a good account in both starts this preparation, which looks like an ideal assignment for the enigmatic four-year-old. From barrier five, she can sit midfield with cover, and if Reece Jones presses the go button at the right time, she will make her presence felt late.

Suggested Bet: Shaken @ $2.20

Warwick Farm Race 7

#2 Cool Jakey

Cool Jakey was okay without threatening first-up at Randwick. The Pierro gelding missed the start, got into trouble early, and never looked comfortable in the run. He strips fitter, and adding blinkers will make him cherry-ripe for a second-up tilt. The 1300m will suit the big boy at this stage of his preparation, and the form around Kovalica is fences and panels above the rest. Serious customer!

Master Showman is ready to explode. His latest outing at Canterbury was full of determination and grit, and the step out in distance looks ideal at this stage of his campaign. From barrier one, he can dictate the tempo, and if he can pinch some sectionals during the middle stages, he will look the winner as they run for the doctor.

Tumbling was a brilliant winner fresh. The Trapeze Artist gelding looks talented, and I expect him to go through his grades successfully over the coming months. The Maher and Eustace factor will attract further market support, and Dylan Gibbons could ride a broomstick to victory at present. This is his acid test.

Suggested Bet: Cool Jakey @ $5.50
