Mid-week racing returns to Rosehill and Bendigo this Wednesday. With competitive programs at both venues, find out who our experts expect to stand up and make a name for themselves!

Rosehill Race 4

#8 Snowman

Snowman has been ultra-consistent this campaign. The Snitzel colt hasn’t finished out of the placings all preparation, and his next win is just around the corner. The step out to 1800m is ideal at this stage of his spell, and I suspect he has the fitness edge over the majority of his rivals. The class rise is the primary concern.

Riff Rocket was an impressive last-start winner at Kembla Grange. The form around him has stood up since, and he looks well placed at Benchmark 72 level. From barrier four, he can sit in the box seat, and if the gaps appear at the right time, I expect him to figure in the finish. Big watch.

State Of America will start favourite after producing an eye-catching run at Canterbury. His late sectionals were piping hot, and the longer trip will suit him. The American Pharoah gelding has further improvement to come for the preparation, and he has been well supported in early betting. I am unsure an inside draw will suit his racing pattern.

Suggested Bet: Snowman @ $4.40

Rosehill RACE 6

#9 Sequestered

Sequestered will start a pronounced favourite after several eye-catching barrier trials. The Pierro mare races well fresh, and I suspect the camp has her ready for a first-up tilt. The 1300m is ideal fresh, and I expect her to get the run of the race from the perfect inside draw. The James Cummings factor should never be underestimated, and with even luck in transit, she can prove too strong late.

Allasandra is an owner’s dream. The Pride Of Dubai mare is ultra-consistent and doesn’t know how to run a bad race. She deserves her shot at this level on Wednesday, and after a little freshen-up, she can make her presence felt late. Her record at the distance is solid, and she has been specked at a price. It may pay dividends to watch for any significant market support.

Smart Little Miss is knocking on the door! The Smart Missile mare has finished in the placing four out of five outings this campaign, and she gets her chance to break through in a very winnable assignment. From the tricky barrier, she will drift back and watch the race unfold, and if she doesn’t get too far out of her ground during the race’s early stages, she can threaten late. Over the odds!

Suggested Bet: Sequestered @ $3.20

Bendigo Race 6

#5 Rockeby Road

Rockeby Road produced an eye-catching finish at Moonee Valley at his latest outing. The War Chant gelding is rock-hard fit after a lengthy campaign, and he will appreciate the step out to 2400m. His form reads well for this event, and he looks like one of the better bets on a tricky program. The drop in grade is significant, and he looks the winner. Hard to toss!

Pearlman turned heads at his recent performance at Geelong. He broke the clock late and put the writing on the wall for a big finish to an already consistent campaign. He finds his pet distance on Wednesday, and if he can stay in touch with the peloton early, he can make an appearance in the shadows.

City Limits will have supporters after a dominant last-start victory at Moe. His record at the distance is fantastic, and he looks ideally drawn in a middle gate. Billy Egan can sit the Complacent gelding midfield with cover, and if he presses the ‘go button’ at the right time, he can greet the judge before his rivals. The class rise is his biggest test.

Suggested Bet: Rockeby Road @ $3.30

Bendigo Race 8

#4 Bel Air

Bel Air made an impressive return to racing at Sandown. The Written Tycoon gelding races well second-up, and he looks dangerous jumping from barrier one. The 1300m is ideal at this stage of the preparation, and there has been an avalanche of money for him since the markets opened. The Bendigo circuit will suit his bold front-running tactics, and I am sure he will look the winner as they run for the doctor.

Karalee Rocks will have supporters after a recent and scintillating jumpout. The Flying Artie mare has perfect first-up stats and is building an enviable career record. From the middle gate, she will drift back and find her hooves, and if she sees clear as they turn for home, she will figure in the finish.

Kings Consort is the intriguing runner. The Ilovethiscity gelding promised the world early doors, and unfortunately, he delivered an atlas. A recent barrier trial was indifferent, and he has been a drifter in early betting. His best form would win this event in a canter. However, he needs to recapture his mojo. Take on trust.

Suggested Bet: Bel Air @ $5.00
