Mid-week racing returns to Sandown and Warwick Farm this Wednesday. With competitive programs at both venues, find out who our experts are tipping to take home the chocolates!

Warwick Farm Race 5

#1 Kibosh

Kibosh is ready to peak! Her two runs this preparation have been honest without threatening, and she will appreciate the step out in distance. The So You Think mare will roll forward from the wide draw, and if she can find the front uncontested during the race’s early stages, I expect her to figure in the finish. She will appreciate the current track conditions and meets easier opposition on Wednesday. Great each-way value!

Coriolis will have supporters after producing a consistent campaign to date. The Lonhro mare is also thereabouts and looks well placed at Benchmark 72 level. The longer trip will suit, and she should be rock-hard fit at this stage of her preparation. The James McDonald and James Cummings combination will attract further market support, and she has raced well previously at the track. The carpark draw is her biggest obstacle.

Outsider is knocking on the door. The Snitzel mare is racing well without winning, and she gets her chance to break through in a very winnable assignment. The talented four-year-old savaged the line to place here last start, and she looks dangerous jumping from the perfect inside draw. Her recent winning record is the primary concern.

Suggested Bet: Kibosh @ $15.00

Warwick Farm RACE 6

#3 Iknowastar

Iknowastar produced an eye-catching performance fresh. The Star Witness gelding looks ready for the 1300m, and he should get the perfect run in transit from the middle gate. The Bjorn Baker-trained galloper deserves his shot at this level, and if Rachel King presents the big boy with his run at the right time, I expect him to figure in the finish. The allocated weight is the biggest deterrent.

Capital Asset is ready to explode! Both runs in this preparation have been ominous, and he has raced well at this stage of his campaign previously. From barrier three, he can sit in the box seat, and if the gaps appear as they turn for home, he can make his presence felt late. The Capitalist gelding has been well supported since the markets opened. Big watch!

Deep Snow is racing well without winning. The Deep Field gelding hit the line sharply at his latest outing, and he strips fitter here. His record at the distance is expectational, and he traditionally races well at this stage of his campaign. From barrier eight, he will drift back and watch the race unfold, and if he doesn’t get too far out of his ground during the middle stages of the race, he can loom large late. The class rise is the primary concern.

Suggested Bet: Iknowastar @ $18.00

Sandown Race 7

#5 Rick's Cafe

Rick’s Cafe hit the line nicely at Flemington first-up. The Americain mare finds her pet distance and has an outstanding second-up record. The 1.5kg apprentice claim could prove the winning difference, and she is undefeated at the track. From barrier three, she will be cuddled up midfield on the rail, and if she sees clear air at Corrigan’s Dip, she can annoy her rivals in the shadows of the post. Over the odds!

Riotous Mischief can run a drum at cricket score odds. The Casino Prince mare is racing better than her form suggests, and she will grow wings stepping out over the longer journey. She always runs well at Sandown and is ready to explode third-up from a spell. Her pattern and style of racing will always require an element of luck.

Electric Belle will start towards the top of the market after a string of narrow misses. The Power mare drops significantly in grade, and the 3kg apprentice claim puts one hoof on the till. From barrier four, she will drift back and find her feet, and if she is within striking distance as they run for the doctor, she can gobble up her opponents late. Her ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is becoming an issue.

Suggested Bet: Rick’s Cafe @ $10.00

Sandown Race 6

#4 The Creator

The Creator is ready to win! Both runs in this preparation have caught the eye of punters, and I am expecting a peak run for the campaign on Wednesday. The Wrote gelding has been crying out for the mile all spell, and he strips fitter after his recent outings. From the inside draw, he will roll forward and control the tempo, and if he can stack them up before straightening, it could be curtains before they reach the final furlong. Hard to toss!

Alchian can resume a winner. The Churchill gelding has produced several pleasing jumpouts leading into his first-up assignment, and Damien ”The Goat” Oliver takes the ride. From the middle gate, he will throw his hat in the ring and challenge for pole position, and if he can find the front early doors, he will look the winner halfway down the long Sandown home straight. He will be thereabouts.

Rich Divinity has been the bridesmaid at his latest two outings. The Rich Enuff gelding is rock-hard fit, and he should get his chance to break through meeting similar opposition. From barrier ten, Mark Zahra will need to weave his magic during the early stages of the race, and if he can find some over throughout, he can figure. His recent winning record doesn’t read well in the bible. Take on trust.

Suggested Bet: The Creator @ $3.70
