Can anyone stop the flying Exploring this Saturday at Morphettville? The James Cummings trained two-year-old gets her chance to notch up another city victory after recently producing a triumphant return to racing at Flemington. With nine stunning races featured on the program, all eyes will be on the city of churches!
#5 Silent Surrente
Silent Surrente is racing in fine style this preparation. The Fiorente mare put two wins together at Morphettville before running admirably in a hot-form race at Flemington. The drop back to the mile is advantageous, and she should be rock-hard fit at this stage of her preparation. A recent barrier trial will have her cherry ripe, and the Will Clarken factor must be respected. Hard to toss!
Atomic Gold is knocking on the door. The Atomic gelding has been thereabouts all campaign, and he was luckless at a crucial stage at his latest outing. The mile will suit, and he traditionally does his best racing at this campaign stage. From barrier nine, he will sit midfield with cover, and if he is presented with his run at the right time, I expect him to fight out the finish. The allocated weight is his biggest obstacle.
Rialtor is a must for all broader multiples and exotics. The Unencumbered gelding is a brave on pace warrior who will look the winner as they turn for home. The 3kg apprentice claim is advantageous, and the perfect inside draw should allow him to find the front spot uncontested. If you have a live ticket with his name on it, look away as they enter the final furlong.
Suggested Bet: Silent Surrente @ $5.50

#7 Show Some Decorum
Show Some Decorum can win on resumption. The Starspangledbanner gelding has a near perfect fresh record, and he is ideally drawn in barrier one. The 1100m will suit first-up, and he will appreciate the significant drop in class. The rising six-year-old has been well supported since the markets opened, and I suspect the Freedman factor will continue to attract market interest. He looks one of the better bets on a tricky program.
Karacasu will have supporters after producing an eye catching run fresh. The Headwater gelding broke most clocks on course with his sizzling late sectionals, and he entered most punters little black book. From barrier ten he will drift back and let the race unfold, and if he can produce his customary turn of foot, he can gobble up his rivals in the shadows.
Hopon Harry is ultra-consistent. The Rebel Raider gelding can resume a winner if he brings his best form and manners to the races. He is usually competitive first-up, and he always races well at Morphettville. From barrier eight he can sit midfield in the running-line, and if Jason “Stubby” Holder presses the go button at the right time, he can figure. Over the odds!
Suggested Bet: Show Some Decorum @ $3.60
Morphettville Race 8
#15 Exploring
Exploring is a very talented filly. Her debut campaign was brilliant at the top level, and she resumed a winner at Flemington in a hot-form race. The 52kg on her back is a luxury, and she has plenty of natural improvement to come. The Brazen Beau filly will jump and cross the field, and if they let her control the tempo throughout, she will lead them a merry dance. Her fate may be decided during the first furlong of the race.
Declared is flying this campaign. The Churchill gelding started his current campaign with two victories, and he has been game in defeat at his latest two outings. The form around him has repeatedly stood up, and if he handles carrying the grandstand, he can challenge the favourite. The 59kg is the obvious disadvantage.
Outback Miss has been smashed since markets opened. The Rubick filly is undefeated, and she is building the picket fence next to her name. Her wins in Victoria have been dominant and effortless, and she deserves her shot at this level. The lightweight brings her into all winning conversations, and the 1000m is in her wheelhouse. Barrier sixteen is the primary concern.
Suggested Bet: Exploring @ $3.00
Morphettville Race 9
#10 Rising Legend
Rising Legend lost no admirers last start stepping up in grade. The Snitzel gelding has had a long career-defining preparation and looks well-placed to meet similar opposition. From barrier four, he can camp on the leader’s back, and if he can rail like a greyhound as the field turned for home, he can figure in the finish. The rising five-year-old is rock-hard fit, and his trainer Scott Westover is currently training winners for fun, over the odds.
Clamarc will have supporters after an impressive last-start win at Balaklava. The Exosphere gelding is a winner previously second-up, and he should get the run of the race from barrier three. The big boy is building a solid career record and is lightly raced for his vintage. It may pay dividends to watch for any significant market support.
Merchant Boss will start favourite after a dominant last-start victory on the Morphettville Parks track. The 3kg apprentice claim puts on the hoof on the till, and she will thrive stepping out to the 1100m. From barrier fifteen, she will drift back to find her feet, and if she is in striking distance as they run for home, she can prove too strong for her rivals late. I am unsure if the length of her campaign is advantageous.
Suggested Bet: Rising Legend @ $14.00
