Canterbury Race 4

#2 Saturn Star

Saturn Star can resume a winner here for his new stable. The Zoustar gelding was impressive in his debut campaign, and I expect him to go through his grades over the coming months. His two recent barrier trials turned heads, and he broke the clocks on course at his latest. He can roll forward from barrier three, and if he can stack them up as they turn for home, he can pinch a winning break. The inform Dylan Gibbons takes the reins, and his new trainers, Maher and Eustace, are training winners for fun. Hard to toss!

Dakota Vroom will have supporters after an impressive first-up victory at Warwick Farm. The I Am Invincible filly put her rivals to the sword a long way from home, and it was a popular win amongst favourite punters. The step out in distance is ideal second-up, and the apprentice claim could prove a masterstroke. From a middle gate, she can sit midfield with cover, and if Zac Lloyd presses the go button at the right time, I expect her to figure in the finish.

Memoria is knocking on the door. The Caravaggio filly is racing in great spirit, and her next win is just around the corner. She was gallant in defeat last start at Newcastle, and her form prior in Queensland reads exceptionally well for this event. The rise in class is the primary concern.

Suggested Bet: Saturn Star @ $4.00

Canterbury Race 5

#4 King Of Naples

King Of Naples is ready to explode third-up from a spell. Both runs of this preparation have been teasing, and the Your Song gelding looks to have this race at his mercy, meeting easier opposition. From barrier three, he can camp on the leaders back, and if he sees daylight at the right time, I expect him to prove too strong late for his rivals. The apprentice claim is advantageous, and there has been a flood of money for the big boy in early betting. He has one hoof on the till!

Walkin’talkin’ looks over the odds. The I’m All The Talk gelding is racing better than his form reads, and he is due for a change of fortune in transit. The drop back to 1250m could prove a winning move, and he should be rock-hard fit at this stage of his preparation. The wide barrier is his biggest obstacle.

Able Willie is ready to win. The Written Tycoon gelding is always thereabouts, and he finds a winnable race on Wednesday. He will appreciate the significant drop in class, and if he is presented with his run at the right time, he can make his presence felt late. His winning record is the primary concern.

Suggested Bet: King Of Naples @ $2.25

Canterbury Race 6

#4 Miss Kojiki

Miss Kojiki is racing in career-best form. After a little freshen-up, the Real Impact mare turned heads at a recent barrier trial, and she finds her pet distance on Wednesday. From barrier five, she will push forward and take up her favourite role as race leader, and if she can slow the clock down in transit, it could be curtains a long way from home. The 3kg apprentice claim could prove a masterstroke, and she is undefeated at the track. Big watch!

Mr Kennedy will start the shortest-priced favourite of the meeting. The Fastnet Rock gelding hasn’t missed the quinella this preparation, and he looks poised to notch up another victory. From barrier three, he can sit in the box seat, and if he doesn’t let the leader slip away on straightening, he will be there to pounce. He can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Odds on, look on!

Rights Of Man will have supporters after producing three teasing barrier trials. The Snitzel gelding has a near faultless record at the trip, and he is lightly raced for a rising six-year-old. He makes his debut for the Inform Kris Less stable and has been specked at a price! The long spell is the biggest deterrent.

Suggested Bet: Miss Kojiki @ $5.00

Canterbury Race 7

#5 Sophia's Magic

Sophia’s Magic is ready to peak. The Charm Spirit mare was okay against better opposition at her latest outing, and her prior form has been good without winning. The step out in distance is ideal, and she should get a cosy run in transit from the middle gate. The Chris Waller factor must be respected, and there has been a flood of money for her in early betting. Her winning record is the primary concern.

Fuller will start favourite after a consistent preparation. The Pierro gelding is always thereabouts, and he seems to go around with plenty of market support each start. He will appreciate the drop in class and looks well placed meeting easier opposition. He can sit with the front contingent from barrier two, and if it turns into a sit and sprint, he could prove too classy. His inability to put away races is a worry.

New Republic is never far away. The Dissident gelding looked comfortable over the longer trip at his latest outing, and he should be rock-hard fit at this stage of his preparation. He has raced well at the track previously, and he finds a very winnable race on Wednesday. It’s been a long time between drinks.

Suggested Bet: Sophia’s Magic @ $6.50
