We preview Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals as Boston attempts to do the impossible, overcoming a 3-0 deficit.
Celtics vs. Heat
26th May 10:30am
With Denver already booking their spot in the NBA Finals via a 4-0 sweep of the Lakers, attention now turns to the Eastern Conference, where Boston will once again face elimination in Game 5 against Miami.
The Celtics have been a picture of disappointment so far in the series, with their first win coming in Florida on Wednesday via a 99-116 victory.
Jayson Tatum found his rhythm with 33 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists, while every other starter and Grant Williams all dropped double-figure points. It was a much-improved performance from a team perspective after shooting 39% in Game 3.
Jimmy Butler did his utmost to keep the Heat in the game during the second half with 29 points, but Erik Spoelstra’s men collectively struggled to find their range, shooting just 25% from beyond the arc. Gabe Vincent shot 17 points alongside Caleb Martin’s 16 off the bench.
The Celtics, who enter the game as $1.29 favourites with BetDeluxe, face elimination every time they step out on the floor. No team has ever come from 3-0 down in the Conference Finals and won the championship, but that doesn’t mean they can’t claim one more win along the way.
