#2 Chimed
Chimed is an intriguing runner. The Frankel gelding is making his Australian debut, and his form in England reads well for this event. He has placed fresh in previous campaigns and is no stranger to 1600m. He may prove hard to hold out if his new stable has him forward enough for a first-up tilt.
Chase De Ace was good without threatening at Moonee Valley first-up. A drop in grade is advantageous, and he must be considered a winning chance from an inside draw. His best career run to date was second-up last preparation, and I expect him to be fully wound up for this event. It may pay to watch for any significant market moves.
Samuel Langhorne is a must for wider exotics. The Shocking gelding is also making his Australian debut on Thursday, and his New Zealand form reads well for this event. I expect a bold showing from a prominent stable.

Pakenham RACE 6
#3 Princeofcambridge
Princeofcambridge savaged the line at Kyneton last start. The Super Easy gelding is knocking on the door, and he gets his chance to break through, dropping back in grade. The former Kiwi galloper is always thereabouts, and I expect him to figure with even luck on Thursday. The wide barrier is the primary concern.
Skinny Dip looks dangerous jumping from an inside draw. The Sacred Falls gelding produced an eye-catching run at Moonee Valley last start, and he looks ideally placed at this level. He has performed well at Pakenham previously, and he should be rock-hard fit at this stage of his preparation.
Titan Of Choice can run well on the quick backup. The Extreme Choice gelding is always thereabouts, and he is due for a change of luck. His record at the track puts him into winning calculations.

Pakenham Race 8
#3 Perusal
Perusal looks well placed in this grade. He was ok fresh without threatening and was a winner second-up in a previous campaign. He always needs luck with his pattern of racing. However, I expect him to be too strong in the shadows.
Galactic Express can win here despite the allocated weight. The apprentice claim that will help his cause, and he is drawn to save every inch of ground. He should be rock-hard fit at this stage of his preparation, and the 1400m looks advantageous.
Delightful Journey needs to bounce back. The Delightful Choice gelding keeps promising the world and delivering an atlas. If he can recapture his best form, he can threaten. His winning record is the primary concern.
