We head to Warwick Farm this Wednesday for a sensational afternoon of mid-week racing. With a stranglehold on Sydney racing, can anyone stop the white-hot Chris Waller?
Warwick Farm Race 4
#3 Eau De Vie
Eau De Vie looks poised to break her maiden on Wednesday. She was great at Canterbury last start without winning, and the 1600m looks ideal for this stage of her preparation. James Mcdonald has plenty of options from a middle gate for the Snitzel filly, and I expect her to be in the finish with even luck.
Hollywood Hero is knocking on the door! The quick backup is advantageous; the extra 200m could be the difference between the winner’s stall or another narrow defeat. The Sacred Falls colt looks well placed after the apprentice claim, and he should get the run of the race from an inside draw. Dylan Gibbons is riding winners for fun at present.
Barmera is the likely leader. He was brave on top of the speed last start, and he should strip fitter after his recent outings. If left to his own devices in front, he may prove hard to run down.
Suggested Bet: Eau De Vie @ $2.60
Warwick Farm Race 5
#4 Asean Legend
I am happy to have a throw at the stumps here with Asean Legend. He ran home well at the track last start, and the 2400m looks perfect for the Australia gelding. The four-year-old is versatile and looks well placed at Benchmark 72 level. His winning record is the primary concern.
Tip Of The Spear will start favourite after two teasing runs this campaign. The Epaulette gelding looks ready to win third-up from a spell, and he should get a dream run in transit from barrier two. The class drop is significant, and the appointment of James Mcdonald is advantageous.
Made By Khan is ultra-consistent. He hit the line nicely last start at Randwick and is ideally drawn in barrier one. The 2kg apprentice claim helps his cause, and his winning record at this level must be respected.
Suggested Bet: Asean Legend @ $11.00
Warwick Farm Race 6
#1 Regal Pom
Regal Pom can continue on his winning ways! He was excellent on top of the speed last start at Canterbury and reached his ideal distance here. He may prove hard to run down if the determined and gritty gelding can control the tempo.
Major Beel will start favourite after an impressive first-up win at Newcastle. The Savabeel gelding showed an electric turn-off foot to score, and if he can reproduce that here, he will be hard to hold out. He strips fitter, and he is undefeated second-up.
Journalism looks dangerous on the quick backup. The I Am Invincible gelding is perfectly drawn in barrier one, and I expect Brett Prebble to have the big boy camped on the leader’s back. If he can see daylight on straitening, he will be in the finish.
Suggested Bet: Regal Pom @ $5.00
Warwick Farm Race 7
#7 Noble Conqueror
Noble Conqueror produced a teasing run first-up from a spell. He strips fitter here, and James Mcdonald has options from a middle gate. The Churchill gelding has had early market support, and the Chris Waller factor must be respected. He looks well placed and weighted for Wednesday’s event. Watch for him late!
Despite drawing in the car park, I expect The Art Of Flying to be competitive. He was good at Sandown fresh, and his second-up record must be respected. If he doesn’t get too far out of his ground early, he can make his presence felt late.
The Empire can run well here third-up from a spell. The apprentice claim is attractive, and he produced an eye-catching last 200m at Canterbury second-up. Now with the Nathan Doyle camp, the Not A Single Doubt gelding could be in for a breakthrough preparation.
Suggested Bet: Noble Conqueror @ $4.40
