We head to Eagle Farm this Wednesday for a sensational afternoon of mid-week racing. Can anyone stop the in-form Tony Gollan from dominating another Brisbane City meeting?

Eagle Farm Race 6

#3 Bronze Dragon

Bronze Dragon can run well here despite being drawn off the track. With several vital scratchings, I expect him to jump from a middle gate, and with the proper run in transit, he gets a chance to break through for a much-deserved maiden victory. The gelding by All Too Hard was great fresh, and the 1200m is the perfect second-up. Watch for the big boy late!

Jackson On Time looks dangerous from an inside draw. Both runs this preparation have been full of merit, and I won’t be surprised if he produces a peak run on Wednesday. The record at the distance is the primary concern.

Robber Baron can run well on debut. The gelding by Capitalist has had three impressive barrier trials, and he looks to have plenty of natural ability. Barrier six should allow him to find his feet, and he must be respected, being from the powerful Robert Heathcote stable. Keep your eyes on the market.

Suggested Bet: Bronze Dragon @ $4.40

Eagle Farm Race 7

#5 Warp Speed

Warp Speed is running well without winning. He attacked the line at Gatton last start, and he should get the run of the race from barrier three on Wednesday. I expect Michael Cahill to be positive out of the barriers and control the race from the outset. If the gelding by Star Witness can pinch some cheap sectionals throughout, he may set up a winning break. The rise in class is the biggest concern.

Sir William Bruce looks poised to strike third-up from a spell. The Gollan camp is training winners for fun at the moment, and the gelding by Galileo looks well placed here. The 1840m is perfect for this stage of his preparation, and I expect a peak run. He needs to turn consistent form into winning form!

Peekays Legacy looks over the odds from barrier one. His win at Sunshine Coast last start reads well for this, and the apprentice claim could prove a masterstroke. He has an excellent record at the distance and has been ultra-consistent throughout his career.

Suggested Bet: Warp Speed  @ $17.00

Eagle Farm Race 8

#3 Royal Performance

I am happy to be with Royal Performance first-up from a spell. His recent barrier trial was cheeky, and he usually runs well at the distance. He looks well placed in this grade, and I expect him to get a soft run in transit from an inside draw. Despite being in the twilight of his career, the Camelot gelding can get the job done here at a reasonable price.

Patton can lead them a merry dance on top of the speed. He was great fresh at the Sunshine Coast and should be fitter for his recent outing. If he can cross and stay out of the speed battle early, he may prove hard to run down. The American Pharoah gelding has shown plenty of potential in previous campaigns.

Terrameades can bounce back here after a disappointing performance at the Gold Coast. Previously, she was dominant at Coffs Harbour and looks well placed in this grade. The 2kg apprentice claim is advantageous, and her best form puts her in the finish.

Suggested Bet: Royal Performance @ $31.00

Eagle Farm Race 9

#2 Derry Grove

Derry Grove was great fresh at Ipswich. He put the writing on the wall for a good preparation, and he should be in the finish here from barrier one. His previous winning Sydney form reads well for a mid-week Class 1 at Eagle Farm, and I expect him to have supporters late in betting. The 1200m looks ideal second-up, and this win could set up his campaign.

Born A Warrior is racing well without winning. He has had a little freshen-up leading into this event, and he could get his chance to break through from an inside draw. Punters are running out of patience, and I am unsure how many more opportunities he will get this preparation.

The lightly-raced Huss On First looks to have plenty of upsides. Her debut campaign involved a win at Doomben and an honourable fourth at Eagle Farm. If she can reproduce that form, she will be competitive here. Her recent barrier trials should have her cherry ripe for a first-up tilt.

Suggested Bet: Derry Grove  @ $7.50
