Flemington Race 1

#6 Graysong

Despite being a first starter, I am very bullish about Graysong from the Mick Price stable. He has won two public jumpouts leading into this event and looks to have an electric turn of foot. The gelding by I Am Invincible can make his debut a winning one if he handles the Flemington straight.

Chiaro Di Luna looks over the odds after being luckless at her only career start. She is first up for her new trainer Simon Zahra, and I expect her to be fully wound up for Friday. She is a must for all wider exotics at a good quote.

There There has the best-exposed form. She was good first-up at Bendigo, and she can make her presence felt when the whips are cracking. She is bred to be a fighter!

Suggested Bet: Graysong @ $2.90

Flemington RACE 3

#7 Proud Conquest

Proud Conquest was stunning last start at Moonee Valley. Despite being trapped in a different suburb for most of the race, he showed grit and determination to finish over the top of them late. It was a gutsy win, and I expect him to continue his winning form here.

Anilla will start favourite after putting two excellent wins together. The former Hong Kong galloper is making an impression in Australia, and if he can make the step up to city grade, he will be hard to hold out.

Miss Middle Park will be competitive after a breakthrough win at Stony Creek.  She will go through her grades successfully when the penny drops. The mare by Maurice looks to have raw ability and a sharp turn of foot.

Suggested Bet: Proud Conquest @ $8.00

Flemington Race 4

#10 Fast Star

Fast Star looks poised second-up after a luckless fresh run. She should have walked in at Kyneton, and she can make amends here. The Zoustar filly looks talented, and I expect the money to come for her late with the in-form Blake Shinn aboard.

Pacific Ruby was scratched from Sandown Wednesday and saved for this event. If she can reproduce her impressive form from last campaign, she will be in the finish. The allocated 61kg and the tricky barrier are significant concerns.

Prairie Flower looks over the odds. The apprentice claim puts her into winning calculations, as does the drop back in the distance. It may pay to follow her moving forward.

Suggested Bet: Fast Star @ $6.00

Flemington Race 7

#14 Senegalia

Senegalia was great fresh at Cranbourne. Previous second-up runs have been competitive, and she looks well-placed here. Jamie Kah takes the ride, and I expect the mare by Street Boss to be savaging the line late.

Prophet’s Choice can surprise here at double-figure odds. The apprentice claim could be a game changer, and her breeding indicates she will burn the turf over 1100m.

I expect a peak run from Mask Up. His two runs this preparation have put the writing on the wall for a third-up victory. His experience at Flemington is a considerable advantage, and he must be respected on exposed form.

Suggested Bet: Senegalia @ $5.50
