The Perth spring carnival continues to heat up this Saturday at Ascot with the running of The Railway Stakes. Can The Wizard William Pike bounce back after a disappointing return to Western Australian racing last weekend?

Ascot Race 6

#7 Devoted

Devoted can win here on the quick backup. He missed out on a spot in The Railway after narrowly falling short as favourite behind Searchin’ Roc’s last Saturday. Dropping back to 1400m is an advantage, and he looks well placed down in grade.

Let’s Galahvant comes through the same race as Devoted. He was brave last start, and he can be competitive again. He is proven over this trip, and I expect him to be in the finish.

Minsk Moment can bounce back after a disappointing run at Flemington last start.

Suggested Bet: Devoted @ $3.10

Ascot Race 7

#3 All The King's Men

All The King’s Men looks poised here after narrowly missing last start. He races well at Ascot, and the mile is ideal at this stage of his preparation. He looks great each way value.

Amelia’s Jewel will start around the even money mark after winning four out of her five career starts. She is a very good filly who only just missed at her latest outing. She is the one to beat, and the punters haven’t missed her in early betting.

Bustler is the interesting runner. He remains undefeated, and he has a good association with the track.  He has a good draw, and he must be respected despite the big jump in grade.

Suggested Bet: All The King’s Men @ $7.50

Ascot Race 8

#15 Treasured Star

Despite drawing barrier 20, Treasured Star can feature here at almost double-figure odds. She is a tough-on-pace galloper who always gives her all.  She is extremely well weighted and can peak third up from a spell. She races well at the track, and she has William Pike aboard. Over the odds.

Trix Of The Trade absolutely motored home last start. He is fitter from his two runs this campaign, and I expect a peak performance Saturday. He is another who runs well at the track, and I am sure he will have supporters late in betting.

Alaskan God will start favourite after an excellent first-up effort. He is undefeated second up, and he must be respected for his record at the track.

Suggested Bet: Treasured Star @ 9.00

Ascot Race 9

#7 Crescent City

Crescent City is racing well without winning. He flew home to finish in the placings at York last start. He is knocking on the door for a win and gets his chance here. William Pike is a great addition, and I expect him to be in the finish.

Big Screen is looking to make it three wins on the trot. He has won his last two races at Ascot over 1400m, the mile is advantageous, and he is no stranger to this grade. No reason why he can’t keep on winning.

Above The Peg will be competitive from a good draw.

Suggested Bet: Crescent City @ $4.00
