Rosehill offers a fantastic card of mid-week racing this Wednesday. Despite the Sydney spring drawing to a close, the top trainers and jockeys will be fighting it out on this competitive seven-race program.
Rosehill RACE 4
#6 Deep Snow
Deep Snow looks to peak here, third up from a spell. From barrier 1, with James McDonald aboard, the son of Deep Field will get every chance to salute. He was good at Taree first up before running well at Randwick last start. This looks like his race.
The obvious danger to Deep Snow is Green Shadows, who have been competitive in similar races. He was strong without winning first up, and he can be in the finish with the right run in transit. The tricky draw is the concern.
Camino Real will be thereabouts after a very consistent campaign to date. She handles the soft and heavy conditions and must be considered from an inside draw.
Suggested Bet: Deep Snow @ $4.40
Rosehill Race 5
#7 Newley Wed
Despite being narrowly beaten as a short-priced favourite last start, Newley Wed can breakthrough here. She has had a little freshen-up coming into this; she has good wet track form and is ideally drawn from a middle gate. She can go one better here and avoid being the bridesmaid again.
Typhoon Taavi looks hard to beat. She has been knocking on the door for a win all preparation, and she finds her right race. If she is ridden positively from the wide barrier, she may be hard to hold out. She handles all conditions.
Chenin looks over the odds after a nice return. Watch for her hitting the line late.
Suggested Bet: Newley Wed @ $4.20
Rosehill Race 6
#2 PANDANO
Pandano attacked the wire last start to breakthrough at Randwick for a well-deserved win. He can make it two wins on the trot with the predicted soft to heavy conditions. The 2kg apprentice claim is a real positive.
Estadio Mestalla will make his Australian debut for the Chris Waller camp. Despite the four-year-old only having raced once overseas, the son of Galileo Gold will start favourite. He has had several nice jumpouts leading into this event. Interesting runner.
Sea Treasures can run well despite being at double-figure odds, while Beckford offers good value for wider exotics.
Suggested Bet: Pandano @ $5.00
Rosehill race 7
#12 tafika
We finish the program with the most competitive race of the day.
Tafika comes to town after an impressive win at Muswellbrook last start. The Tavistock mare showed an excellent turn of foot to get the job done. Despite this being her most challenging assignment for the preparation, she can win again.
Tony Be looks well placed down in grade. He was ok first up, and I expect him to be competitive here. Class galloper who can bounce back. Any runner from the Chris Waller barn must be respected.
Despite carrying the grandstand, Mr Gee will be thereabouts. He strips fitter second up, and he handles all conditions.
Suggested Bet: Tafika @ $10.00
