Horse Racing Tips

Saturday Racing Tips & Previews, October 8th

Group Ones abound at Caulfield and we look into all the action ahead of Caulfield Guineas Day.

Three Group Ones ahead at The Heath as we look forward to Caulfield Guineas Day.

Caulfield Race 3

#2 troach

Last start, it bumped into a brilliant horse and if she holds that form, expect her to be challenging to beat.

Her form on soft/heavy ground is exceptional and draws a nice gate for its pattern.

She will push forward and eyeball the leader, and if Craig Williams can hold the tempo outside the leader, then it will give this filly every chance to run in the top 3.

Suggested Bet: Troach @ $8.00

CAULFIELD RACE 4

#16 AMISH BOY

This jockey/trainer combination has a 35% strike rate from their last 25 runners, which is extraordinary!

He comes into this race 2nd up after having 300+ days off.

He resumed on a heavy track where he was fair to the eye; however, that race has rated highly and with that run under the belt after such a long time off, expect him to be much fitter for a 2nd up assignment with the rise in distance suiting.

Could do worse than having an each-way ticket on this lad.

Suggested Bet: Amish Boy @ $16.00

Caulfield Race 7

#1 zaaki

We are giving the superstar Zaaki another chance here against a red-hot field.

Similar field to the Underwood when Alligator Blood stole it in front, with the addition of Anamoe, it makes for a fantastic race.

We don’t think Alligator Blood will get it so easy in front, and Jamie Kah should sit just off the speed with Zaaki and get a perfect run into the race.

Hoping they don’t go too quick but quick enough, so the back markers in Anamoe and I’m Thunderstruck don’t get a crack at them.

Suggested Bet: Zaaki @ $4.60

Caulfield Race 8

#2 Berkeley Square

This horse’s untapped potential might be on full display here in the Guineas.

His progression through the ranks over his last few starts has been admirable.

We expect them to take full advantage of that barrier by positioning in a slightly more favourable position.

All his runs have been on a soft, so conditions won’t be an issue. If the horse doesn’t get stopped at the top of the straight in peak hour traffic, he wins this race.

Suggested Bet: Berkeley Square @ $4.80

Caulfield race 9

#5 i wish i win

Impossible to tip against after its first two runs this prep.

It looked like it was beaten last start, got a gap late, and just looked like it jogged past the field to win by a length.

We think Luke Nolen can get it one off the fence or on the three broad lines with cover and use his explosive turn of foot at the turn to fly past them again.

Suggested Bet: I wish I Win @ $2.50
