The Buccaneers and Chiefs go head to head, while the Rams will look to take advantage of a 49ers team facing uncertainty.
Our team of experts have analysed all the form and markets ahead of a big weekend of football.
Tampa Bay vs. Kansas City
3rd October 11:20am
This is an unusual scenario for these teams, with underperforming offences coming off losses.
But lousy form is temporary, particularly with Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady as your quarterbacks, and both sides will be looking to bounce back in week 4.
Brady has struggled to have any big impact so far, while Mahomes is still adjusting to his new-look offence, failing to get the win.
Brady won’t have it easy this week with the Chiefs’ defence getting right in the face of anyone they line up against. He gets Mike Evans back as a receiving option but will miss Chris Godwin and Julio Jones, who are out with injury, while Jaylen Watson will be a menace in the defence.
The Chiefs fell short against Indianapolis for several reasons, not least of which their special teams struggled to convert at crucial times. They will be studying plenty of film this week as they look to get their season back on track.
The Bucs’ record of 2-1 so far this season is a tad misleading as they have been far from convincing and will be seriously put to the test in this rematch of the 2021 Superbowl.
There are too many question marks over Tampa Bay, and the Chiefs look the safe bet in this one.
Suggested Bet: Kansas City -1.5 at $1.90
San Francisco vs. LA Rams
4th October 11:15am
Monday Night Football is a must-watch encounter with two of the best of the west facing off in a game that will go a long way to both teams’ narratives.
San Francisco’s decision to keep Jimmy Garopplo on the roster paid off with a week two injury to Trey Lance, but he hasn’t exactly slotted in seamlessly as a backup and needs time to settle back in.
When you can’t match a Denver score of 11, it spells trouble for an offence already suffering after an injury to left tackle Trent Williams. And Garoppolo was rattled, with an uncharacteristic fumble and a baffling safety.
Los Angeles hasn’t quite recaptured its Superbowl winning form and won ugly last week against Arizona. Its offence is a far cry from the Hollywood team that held the Vince Lombardi trophy aloft earlier in the year, while their running back committee of Darrel Henderson and Cam Akers doesn’t seem to have its full rhythm just yet. The key for them is the defensive bull, Aaron Donald, who will seize every opportunity to get in Garoppolo’s space.
The Rams might not be at their very best, but they have more structure in place than the 49ers and will take the W here.
Suggested Bet: Rams win at $1.98
