Group One races across Moonee Valley, Rosehill and Sandown, set up a scintillating weekend of racing!
moonee valley race 7
#2 paulele
Resumes after a spell of 4 months.
Races best when fresh, winning 3 out of 4 first up.
Also had two trials to sharpen up, winning one.
He has been a winner around the tight Moonee Valley track previously.
Has drawn ideally in barrier six, and Jmac should be able to settle in just behind the leaders & prove too strong over the concluding stages.
Suggested Bet: Paulele @ $4.00
sandown race 7
#1 zaaki
Won this race last year off a similar preparation.
Looked back to his almighty best winning first up at Randwick on a heavy track.
A winner from 4 of 5 over 1800m and 1 of 1 at Sandown.
More than capable in all conditions, so whichever Melbourne weather throws up on the day will be no issue.
Jamie Kah finally gets back on board, and after a brief battle with Alligator blood for the lead, he will be tough to run down.
Suggested Bet: Zaaki @ $2.50
rosehill race 8
#3 jacquinot
Up from Melbourne after winning well at Caulfield first up.
First, go over 1400m but hit the line last start like this will be no issue.
A notoriously lousy jumper from the gates should see him settle towards the rear of the field.
We expect there to be genuine pace on, and there are not many better than D.Lane at the moment to thread his way through the field.
Watch for him to be eating up the ground late and get the last bob in.
Suggested Bet: Jacquiont @ $7.00
Mornington race 7
#2 irish flame
He has not won in coming on two years.
Was running in genuine Group 1 middle distance races this time last year.
Finally dropped back in class this preparation and starting to get fit.
A forgettable last start here at the Valley and a quick 3-week freshen-up should provide a winning opportunity.
D.Stackhouse stays on board, and if the track manages to stay wet, we think his a massive play at E/W odds.
Suggested Bet: Irish Flame @ $14.00
