Early mail on the action from Sandown and a look into Doomben too.
sandown race 1
#7 Lottwon
On debut here and going off his convincing trial win at Cranbourne will knock off his maiden first go.
Has drawn the carpark which might make things interesting but with the experienced C. Williams on board we think he can overcome.
A wet track will be no issue and the avalanche of money as soon as markets went up suggests watch out.
Suggested Bet: Lottwon @ $2.35
sandown race 5
#3 puckapunyal
Impressive first-up performance over 1400m at Sale getting nosed out by Juice box.
Won 2nd up last preparation on a heavy track which will be similar to conditions at Sandown.
With the rail out 12m, watch her jump and cross from barrier 14 & try to lead all the way.
The slight rise in distance will only help and if she manages to catch a cheap sectional she will be hard to run down.
Suggested Bet: Puckapunyal @ $7.50
sandown race 8
#18 the sisters
Perennial placer the last year without adding another win, but this 7yo mare is ultra-consistent.
Finished 2nd on the lakeside track last start and 2nd over this track and distance 3 starts back in July.
Reruns back to the shorter 1000m trip here, but watch her settle towards the rear of the field and be running late. Big place chance
Suggested Bet: The Sisters E/W @ $21.00/6.50
DOOMBEN RACE 6
#1 otyrar
Narrowly beaten last start at Doomben – back in grade here now with the top weight of 59k.
He will settle in the back half of the field from barrier ten but has won at the track and placed twice this preparation showing he like it here.
James Orman and Chris Waller are a proven combination.
Suggested Bet: Otyrar @ $2.50
