Rosehill Tips & Previews, Saturday 2nd July

All the best bets, tips and confidence ratings from the 10-race card at Rosehill on Saturday to get July racing underway.

A big race day makes up Saturday racing at Rosehill with 10 events on the program.

Our team has gone through all the best bets, tips and confidence ratings across the card.

Rosehill race 1

#3 shalstar

A three-year-old filly who has shown she has a nice turn of foot.

Nice win when resuming from a spell at Randwick-Kensington when enjoying a nice run and putting her opposition away.

Suggested Bet: Shalstar win at $2.50

Confidence Rating: 8.5/10

rosehill race 3

#4 monte ditto

He can pinch these winter-handicap races.

Booking of Hugh Bowman is essential to his winning chances and looks worthy of an each-way flutter at the double figures.

Suggested Bet: Monte Ditto each way at $10 for the win and $3.30 for the place

Confidence Rating: 5/10

rosehill race 4

#5 black queen

Black Queen is ready to run a campaign best after three adequate runs to get her up to 2400 metres.

She raced slightly flat over 2000 last start but the form line behind Born A King looks quite strong and Kerrin McEvoy can position this mare into a handy spot in the small field.

Suggested Bet: Black Queen win at $3.60

Confidence Rating: 6.5/10

rosehill race 7

#4 per inaway

Third run for the new stable after being acquired from New Zealand.

The three-year-old filly trained by Kris Lees will get the services of Hugh Bowman to pilot her around, and she looks ready to peak, getting up to 1400 metres.

Gets run of the race from barrier four.

Suggested Bet: Per Inaway win at $4.80

Confidence Rating: 6.5/10

rosehill race 8

#14 naval seal

With the likely scratching of Cross Talk, this race opens up for Naval Seal.

Won very smartly over the Rosehill 1800 metres last start and remains at the same track and distance with a rise in grade.

That is offset by a nice weight drop thanks to two-kilo claimer Tyler Schiller.

Suggested Bet: Naval Seal win at $3.8

Confidence Rating: 7.5/10

rosehill race 9

#1 lackeen

Lackeen is a horse who requires a smother in his runs behind horses and then being exposed in the home straight to let down with his sprint.

His first-up effort in higher grade over 13000 metres at Randwick rated strongly enough to suggest he can be winning this race.

Comes down in grade and with the two-kilo claim, he only has to carry an extra kilo than he did last start.

Suggested Bet: Lackeen win at $4.40

Confidence Rating: 7/10
