Ballarat Tips & Previews, Tuesday 28th June

Ballarat synthetic track gets another workout and that means the Punter's Prince is ready to fire us into a fresh set of best bets heading into the end of June.

Back to Ballarat, we go.

The third synthetic meeting in eight days comes to light as the Punter’s Prince nails down the best bets and tips.

He is keen on a two-year-old colt in the second and is having a good whack at a two-year-old filly in the third.

However, the best of the day is a synthetic-track veteran who races in the fifth.

ballarat race 1

#8 nicconbye

She debuted up the straight at Flemington against the brilliant two-year-old filly in the name of Ghaanati and was all at sea.

She started an $8 elect, and nothing went right for her as she raced very greenly and was beaten a long way.

Putting some faith into the market respect, she got in that race and finding herself against easier opposition here and the blinkers being applied.

Suggested Bet: Nicconbye win at $3.40

Confidence Rating: 6/10

Ballarat race 2

#2 chopin

Chopin can serve it up to the odds-on favourite South Of Houston.

There is no arguing the Price & Kent runner deserves to be the primary elect, but her odds are way too short.

Chopin jumped out very soundly on the all-weather track at Flemington and comes up with a friendly price.

Suggested Bet: Chopin each way at $8 the win and $3.20 the place.

Confidence Rating: 7/10

ballarat race 3

#9 icy isea

Icy Isea jumped has jumped out twice in the lead-up to her debut.

Both of those have been on rain-affected going, with her most recent effort being on a heavy ten behind stablemate Pacific Ruby who has since gone on to win a maiden race with ease.

I think we will see what is indeed under the bonnet on firm going.

Suggested Bet: Ice Isea win at $4.20

Confidence Rating: 7/10

ballarat race 5

#1 mr mischief

Looks very well suited to dropping back to BM-58 grade, with two-kilo claimer Sheridan Clarke dropping him down to 61.5kgs.

It races on the four-day backup and has concise starting prices in very similar races to this when carrying more weight.

Best of the day.

Suggested Bet: Mr Mischief win at $3.10

Confidence Rating: 8.5/10

ballarat race 7

#7 paris gem

Was returning to the races the last start at this track and distance after spending time away since March 19.

She will be fitter for the run and is drawn to get an economical transit from barrier five.

She handles the synthetic track and should be hitting the line hard late in the race.

Suggested Bet: Paris Gem each way at $12 the win and $3 the place.

Confidence Rating: 5/10
