Swan Hill Tips & Previews, Friday 10th June

With big numbers to inundate the Swan Hill for the beginning of its three-day carnival, the Punter's Prince leads the way with all the best bets on Friday.

Swan Hill heads up Friday racing as the Punter’s Prince charges into the weekend with a head full of steam.

The best bets across the nine-race card are in, and plenty of value can be found.

#14 vagrant

This is the time of the year when two-year-olds can attack the older horses and win.

It is hard to see how they catch Vagrant based on what this two-year-old filly has shown at her jump-outs.

It looks as though she has the speed to burn and a nice turn of foot to boot.

There are a lot of horses here with plenty of convictions to their name, and she is the new girl on the scene.

Hoping the instructions from the stable are to get her rolling and find the front on a track which should favour horses on the speed.

Suggested Bet: Vagrant win at $4

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 5 & 14

#4 misterguitars

He showed good speed to win his most recent Wodonga jump out by holding out Tallawah on a heavy track over 1000 metres.

He has had three jump-outs this preparation to prepare for the races, so he will have a strong enough platform to run well on resumes.

There has to be a slight question mark on how well the favourite Midivani will perform getting up to 1200 metres off a last-start failure.

A bit of early money around for the Hayes runner suggests he is good to go first-up.

He is drawn to get a perfect sit on the leaders from barrier four and will be peeling out to run them down in the straight.

He has excellent action, which makes him the best of the day.

Suggested Bet: Misterguitars win at $4.20

#6 front page

Cracking edition of the Golden Topaz this year.

Have landed with Front Page, who comes off a last-start Flemington failure, but he did have excuses.

He was heavily back to live up to his strong straight form. However, he pulled up with cardiac arrhythmia.

Stable has given him the all-clear, and his best form would win this with a leg in the air.

Provided he parades nicely and the price holds up, we can judge him on his best.

Suggested Bet: Front Page win at $3.60

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 6, 7, 9, 12

#7 faretti

I am warming to the set-up for Faretti.

Gets a lot of things in his favour here.

He has had a very sharp jump out since his last start at BM-78 level over 1400 metres at Caulfield, and he finds himself a winnable BM-78 over 1200 metres.

He maps to lead or sit outside the lead in this race from the wide barrier and loves the blinkers going on him here.

Craig Newitt takes the ride and is the perfect jockey for this front-running galloper with his upbeat, aggressive riding style.

Suggested Bet: Faretti each way at $7.5 the win and $2.60 the place.
