Sandown Tips & Previews, Saturday 11th June

Get your brollies ready, the Punter's Prince finds all the best bets ahead of a wet and windy day Sandown!

Sandown is set to cop bathing with the weather predicted for Saturday racing.

The Punter’s Prince has got his brolly out for the meeting and finding fit horses who can handle the going.

Keep an eye out for how the track plays.

It will either be very hard to make up ground, or being out wide and coming from the rear might be the flavour of the day.

Sandown race 1

#4 eros

He gets a little weight swing on Winning Revolution for having been beaten a very narrow margin by him when they went head to head at Sale last start.

The pair gapped the rest of the field in a race that will likely rate quite well for these two-year-old races.

Mark Zahra has been booked, and there should be a stack of improvements for this alongside the weight swing.

Expecting anywhere beaten three to five lengths worth of a spike in his effort from Sale.

Very hard to beat and, based on breeding, should handle the wet tracks.

Suggested Bet: Eros win at $2.60

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 4 & 13

sandown race 2

#3 ashford street

Ashford Street thrives when there is rain about.

Put him on a soft or heavy track, and he performs out of his skin.

He won so well at Caulfield on a soft five track and, before that, won brilliantly on a heavy 10 track Warnambool on May 5.

He is likely to get a soft to heavy track here and maps to get the run of the race.

If he runs up to what he did at Caulfield, he is almost unbeatable.

Bet of the day.

Suggested Bet: Ashford Street win at $3.50

sandown race 6

#15 teofilo star

Teofilo Star was as brave as they come when winning at Sandown over 2400 metres in BM-70 grade last start.

He sat outside the lead and kicked hard to hold off Hereforagoodtime, who had the drop on him.

That winning effort will have him cherry ripe for this rise in grade, and he looks to get complete control of the lead from the wide gate.

Expect Michael Dee to press forward, roll them along, and use the robust platform of fitness this horse has built to make consecutive wins.

He is tough to beat if he leads without hassle.

Suggested Bet: Teofilo Star win at $4.80

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 3, 7, 15

sandown race 8

#11 sig positano

Sig Positano was marked straight into the blackbook after his run on May 7 and then was double observed in the blackbook after his effort at Caulfield on May 28.

He comes out of the airborne Patrick Payne stable, the most in-form stable on the land at the moment.

He will get a charmed run from the barrier, and the rise to 1300 metres is perfect for him.

Big long straight at Sandown for him to wind up those solid late sectionals, and he handles the wet going.

Suggested Bet: Sig Positano win at $3.80

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 11 & 6
