Sale Tips & Previews, Wednesday 8th June

All the best bets and tips from the Punter's Prince ahead of racing from Sale on Wednesday.

Racing moves away from metropolitan Melbourne on Wednesday as Sale gets set for an eight-race meeting.

With a few jumps races on the card, the Punter’s Prince is keen to spring into action with the best bets.

Sale Race 3

#1 valac

I am giving the ghostly grey another crack at finding the winners list.

At his last start, he travelled up like the winner over the jumps at Warrnambool but blundered and fell heavily.

The stable informed the betting public he had pulled with no issues after the fall, and he brings in the best form of anything to this race.

He has since had a very quiet steeple trial over 2800 metres, where he looked to travel nicely and regain all his confidence.

Suggested Bet: Valac win at $2.70

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1, 2, 3

sale race 4

#15 meridius

He settled far back at his debut run and will be far better off second-up.

Billy Egan had in the second half of the field at Wangaratta over 1100 metres, and he just had to make up too much ground in a race where the winner was up on the speed.

I liked his last 400 metres, where he ran home in a rating of around five lengths above the benchmark for that track, distance and class.

Big jockey switch with Jamie Kah riding, and she is sure to get this two-year-old colt up closer to the leaders or may even lead.

He has the fitness to run a big race, and he is the best of the day at Sale.

Suggested Bet: Meridius win at $4

Sale race 6

#3 he's on form

He’s On Form is definitely in good form heading into this essentiality BM-64 race over 2200 metres.

The Patrick Payne-trained staying type scorched home from an impossible position at Morning over 2000 metres the last start to capture second with a significant weight on his back.

Stepping up in grade sees him drop sharply in weight, and he has proven he can handle this track, having run second over 1700 metres here two starts back.

He now has the conditioning to run a strong race over this distance range.

The stable is the most in-form stable in Australia, and another is imminent if Billy Egan can get clear running from the inside gate.

Could start odds on.

Suggested Bet: He’s On Form win at $2.25

sale race 8

#2 toorak playboy

Toorak Playboy has wholly gone up the wrong price.

He will probably need one more run or two to hit his peak fitness, but the odds are too good to resist here.

He is a genuine BM-64 performer who went on a sensational run of form during the last six runs of his most recent campaign.

His resuming run was not as bad as when he had to commit to a big mid-race surge, which saw his run peter out.

Hoping he jumps a bit cleaner this time and settles closer in the run.

Worth an each-way peanut.

Suggested Bet: Toorak Playboy each way at $21 for the win and $5.5 for the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 2, 5, 6
