Horse Racing Tips

Flemington Tips & Previews, Saturday 4th June

Back to headquarters at Flemington we go for a nine-race card which sees the Punter's Prince find the best bets and tips ahead of Saturday metro racing.

A competitive nine-race card unfolds at Flemington on Saturday.

The Punter’s Prince is suited up and ready to find all the best bets, tips and value plays for a big day of Melbourne metro racing.

He is suggesting we keep an eye on the course and conditions to see where the winners are coming from, so keep that powder dry early.

Flemington race 4

#5 the claimant

By race four, we should know how the track is playing.

Going with the Michael Kent-trained, The Claimant, who pops up for his fourth career run.

The three-year-old gelding produced a reasonable effort at Caulfield when racing over 2000 metres for the first time in his career.

It was a race that saw the field string out, and he did a great job.

He gets an excellent weight swing on Elzamee and looks as though he is the type of horse who will appreciate the open surroundings of Flemington.

Suggested Bet: The Claimant win at $4.4

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 3, 5, 6, 17

flemington race 5

#6 diamonds

Diamonds drop well back in class after competing in a $127k race at Group 3 level behind Series.

She now finds herself in BM-70 grade, which is one of the most manageable levels she has competed in quite a while and gets an extraordinary claim from Josh Richards.

She is likely to be drawn in the right part of the track on the grandstand rail and will need an ounce of luck to pierce her way through the field.

Have to be with her on an each-way basis.

Suggested Bet: Diamonds each way at $7.5 for the win and $2.6 for the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 6, 11, 13, 15

flemington race 6

#10 kissinger

Kissinger will be much fitter for his recent runs.

The Lindsey Smith-trained middle-distance horse looks to have the proper form for this race coming out of a BM-84 race at Flemington over 1800 metres the last start.

He did well to run fifth after drawing a wide barrier and will be much-suited third-up with a more substantial fitness base and better border.

He started a $7 elect in a very similar race third-up last preparation and ran a rating that would be very competitive in this race.

He gets a weight swing on a few of these horses and can be in the finish at each-way odds.

Suggested Bet: Kissinger each way at $9 the win and $3 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 6 & 10

flemington race 8

#15 it'sourtime

If there was ever a time It’sOurTime was ready to win a race, it is now.

Danny O’Brien saddles up this runner for his fourth-up run over 1400 metres.

He has been building towards a win this preparation but has not had the right set-up to run his peak.

He is now fully fit, and getting up to this distance will see him settle closer to the speed than he has been at his last three starts.

Jye Mcneil has been booked, which is a green light that this horse is primed.

Suggested Bet: It’sOurTime win at $3.30

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 15 & 16
