After landing his best of the weekend, the Punter’s Prince is in good form heading into the new racing week.
He has found all the best bets and value ahead of Monday racing at Ballarat on the synthetic surface.
ballarat race 1
#8 naive melody
This could be a tricky runner to assess.
However, the Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace stable might not want to give away all their cards for this race.
This two-year-old filly had a very quiet jump out at Stawell over 800 metres.
After jumping cleanly and settling on the speed, she regressed through the Six-horse field to finish last.
She was asked for absolutely no effort in the straight, which shows that she is purely being reserved for a massive crack on race day.
Johnny Allen is booked.
Suggested Bet: Naive Melody win at $2.90
ballarat race 2
#5 precious socks
Sprinted to the front when debuting for the new stable and just felt the pinch late in the race.
The four-year-old mare has good early speed, and her fitness will now be up to the mark.
She maps ahead of the odds-on favourite, which looks vulnerable upon resuming from a spell.
Zac Spain is in good front-running form after winning The Goodwood aboard Lombardo and can lead here.
Suggested Bet: Precious Socks each way at $6 for the win and $2.15 for the place.
Suggested Exotic: Quinella 3 & 5
ballarat race 3
#4 pindari point
I was expecting a much better effort from Pindari Point.
He has threatened to break his maiden in recent runs, but in the last start, he failed miserably on what was likely a heavy track despite the rating not saying that.
Significant gear change with a set of blinkers going on, and expect a massive spike from him getting into the synthetic.
Hard to beat if he handles the blinkers and improves a handful of lengths.
Suggested Bet: Pindari Point each way at $7.5 for the win and $2.3 for the place.
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 4, 5, 8
ballarat race 6
#2 marine belle
In a race that has a very compressed weight scale, the 63kgs carried by Marine Belle doesn’t seem overly concerning.
Little-known trainer Genevieve Browne saddles this five-year-old mare who looks ready to fire.
This galloper clearly enjoys her racing on the synthetic surface, having had one start at the track for a win.
She had a slick jump out at Burrumbeet on May 10, suggesting she is ready to win.
Johnny Allen to pilot her around the track only gives us more confidence.
Suggested Bet: Marine Belle win at $5.5
Suggested Exotic: Exacta 2 & 8
