NRL Round 11, Tips & Previews, Friday 20th May

The BetDeluxe 2022 NRL Round 11 preview for the best bets and tips ahead this weekend's fixtures.

The NRL Round 11 BetDeluxe Preview gets underway on Friday night as we prepare for another weekend of best bets and tips.

wests tigers vs. canterbury

may 20th 6:00pm

Michael Potter takes the reigns of Canterbury when it faces Wests Tigers on Friday night.

The season of disappointment for Canterbury was only amplified with Trent Barrett handing in his resignation.

The Bulldogs have been left to languish in last with an inferior 2-8 record, while Wests have fared no better at the head to head.

This game could determine who receives the wooden spoon this year.

Canterbury will get a kick out of the pressure being relieved on the club, and it will indeed play with some freedom on the weekend.

Let’s go with the Dogs to cause the upset.

Suggested Bet: Canterbury head to head at $2.44

parramatta vs. manly

may 20th 7:55pm

The nightmare of a 38-0 defeat to Brisbane last weekend will be firmly in the mind of the Manly when it battles Parramatta.

With more knee concerns to star fullback Tom Trbojevic, the Sea Eagles have looked nothing like the team that went deep into finals last season.

On the other hand, Parramatta looks like a genuine premiership threat if it can get its act together and find some consistency.

Eels should win this.

Suggested Bet: Parramatta -7.5 at $1.90

st george illawarra vs. new zealand

may 21st 3:00pm

Two middle-of-the-road teams go head to head when St George meets New Zealand.

Both teams are coming into this fixture having lost their last two games, but St George has won the last two between these teams.

The mental resolve will be tested after both teams played in tight gut-wrenching losses in Magic Round.

The Dragons will try to pick themselves up with the debut of youngster Francis Molo who is sure to add some spark into the lineup.

Thinking the Dragons can take advantage of the home-ground edge.

Suggested Bet: St George Illawarra -3.5 at $1.90

north queensland vs. melbourne

may 21st 5:30pm

Melbourne heads up north to Townsville for a clash against North Queensland on Saturday night.

The Storm was no match for Penrith last weekend, but injuries have curtailed the start of their season, and the Cowboys will have a real sniff here.

Melbourne still sits second on the table with an 8-2 record despite the casualty ward at AAMI Park.

Todd Payten will fancy himself to get one over Craig Bellamy here as the Storm tries to find avenues to the try line without their champion fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen.

Suggested Bet: North Queensland Cowboys head to head at $2.64

sydney vs. penrith

may 21st 7:35pm

Penrith meets the Sydney Roosters at the SCG on Saturday night.

The reigning premier will go in with an unchanged lineup after Melbourne’s 32-6 defeat.

Sydney, however, has named Nat Butcher to come in for Victor Radley (ankle), while Lindsay Collins returns from a high tackle suspension.

You could not possibly tip against Penrith at the moment.

The Panthers are going great guns.

Expect all the Penrith big guns, namely Nathan Cleary, to have too much class.

Suggested Bet: Penrith -9.5 at $1.90

south sydney vs. canberra

may 22nd 2:00pm

South Sydney heads up the first Sunday fixture when it meets with Canberra at Apex Oval in Dubbo.

The Raiders hit this game with a head full of steam after a fabulous upset win over Cronulla during Magic Round at Suncorp Stadium, and it might be the catalyst for Ricky Stuart’s men to go on a run.

Consistency has been a massive issue for Canberra this season, and South Sydney has looked very vulnerable throughout 2022.

Canberra has a little bit of added incentive to get up for this game, with Josh Papalii set to play his 250th NRL game.

Raiders at the line.

Suggested Bet: Canberra +4.5 at $1.90

gold coast vs. cronulla

may 21st 4:05pm

Cronulla is hunting to rebound off a disappointing loss when it faces Gold Coast to end Round 11 of the NRL season.

The Sharks were easily accounted for by Canberra and find themselves on the precipice of the top four, while Gold Coast sits 3-7 after pinching a late win against St George.

The mental edge is held with Cronulla in this game.

A six-game winning streak against the Titans is what the Sharks have to their name coming into this match.

Expect that trend to continue.

Suggested Bet: Cronulla -6.5 at $1.90
