Canterbury heads into its Thursday night Round 10 clash as the $1.74 favourite against Newcastle.
The Bulldogs were a defeated force against Canberra last week after going down 12-4, but the Knights have been going horrendously in the last three fixtures.
Newcastle has an average losing margin of 35 points and struggling horribly at both the offensive and defensive ends.
At a neutral venue, there is no real advantage either way.
It would take a brave person to have a punt on Canterbury at odds-on and Newcastle, despite its horrible recent record, has been being playing some slick in-form teams.
Knights the value.

manly vs. brisbane

Manly and Brisbane go toe to toe at Suncorp on Friday night for what is poised to be a cracking fixture between seventh and eighth.
In what is a home game for the Sea Eagles at the home venue of the Broncos, the crowd will be vocally in favour of the ‘away’ team.
Manly welcomed back Tom Trbojevic last week in its 36-22 win against Wests Tigers and he will certainly be better for the outing.
Brisbane, meanwhile, found itself in sparkling form with a 32-12 thumping of South Sydney.
Tough to line these teams up, but Turbo Tommy ready to hit peak form, Manly is where we will side.

Both the Warriors and Rabbitohs will be on the hunt to bounce back from Round 9 losses when they go head to head this weekend.
New Zealand was no match for Cronulla as it was resigned to a 4-5 record, while the Rabbitohs fell to the same win-loss record in life after Wayne Bennett.
South Sydney has really mixed its form but has responded to losses quite well.
Think the Rabbitohs can rebound strongly here.

gold coast vs. st george illawarra

Gold Coast will try to turn its fortunes around when it hosts St. George Illawarra at Suncorp Stadium.
The Titans have looked disjointed for most of 2022 and sit in the doldrums with a 2-7 record, while St George has managed a 4-5 tally.
Gold Coast might have the mental edge in this contest, having won the last two battles, but five consecutive losses in the league are not endearing to bring into this game.
St George played arguably the best team in the league last week and was outclassed; this is a more straightforward assignment.
Suggested Bet: St George Illawarra head to head $1.80
cronulla vs. canberra

Cronulla will look to hold its spot in the top four when it locks horns with Canberra on Saturday night.
Canberra finally put to bed a losing streak which has threatened to derail its season.
With the media put at bay for another week, Ricky Stuart can get to work on finding a way to beat the Sharks, but that is easier said than done.
Cronulla comes into this off a cruisy 29-10 victory against New Zealand, but they have shown signs of vulnerability over the last month.
Canberra is a team who can rock up when you least expect it and there odds here to do look a little overstated.

sydney vs. parramatta

Two old rivals fight it out at when Sydney and Parramatta duel on Sunday.
On the precipice of the top four, both teams will know a win is integral to keep them in the hunt for the double chance come end of the season.
It is Parramatta which brings in the form of a sensational 22-20 win over Penrith as it handed the premiership favourite its first defeat of the season.
The win will do so much for the belief and confidence of Brad Arthur’s men.
Have to side with the Eels in this game after what they did against the Panthers last week.

wests tigers vs. north queensland

Having stormed into top four contention with a four-game winning streak, the North Queensland Cowboys now face the task of Wests Tigers at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday.
Todd Payten has led his troops into a sensational vein of form, but we have seen what Wests are capable of when it all clicks.
However, wins against Parrmatta and South Sydney back in April have been followed up by the Tigers dropped games to St George and Manly.
Those upset victories seem to be just that and a outlier on what they are going to produce for the rest of the season.
North Queensland to keep up its winning momentum and continue its charge up the table.
