Two massive games close out Round 8 of the AFL season.
Melbourne takes on St Kilda, while the Blues host the Crows at Marvel.
melbourne vs. st kilda
may 8th 1:10pm
St Kilda will be hoping to hurt the Demons with its brutal speed on transition, which was hard to get going in dewy conditions in Cairns last weekend.
It was the Saints’ first loss in over a month, but every chance, based on what it showed, it can rebound strongly and cause Melbourne issues.
The open expanses of the MCG will allow the Saints to get their running game going, and the wet weather will take away Melbourne’s strongest defensive asset – intercept marking.
Saints to cause an upset.
Suggested Bet: St Kilda head to head at $3.40
Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: St Kilda head to head
Leg 2: J. Higgins 2+ goals
Leg 3: J. Steele 25+ disposals
Combined odds = $4.6
carlton vs. adelaide
may 8th 4:40pm
Carlton is hunting for a 6-2 record when it welcomes Adelaide to Marvel Stadium on Sunday.
The Blue Baggers hit back after a loss against Fremantle with a 50-point drubbing of North Melbourne, while Adelaide was left bemused by a 10-goal loss to the Giants despite starting the $1.50 favourite.
Carlton will likely welcome back gun rebounding defender Zac Williams, who will add much-needed experience and poise with the ball in hand.
Taylor Walker will be the danger upfront for Adelaide as he gets set for a battle against Jacob Weitering, but the Blues hold all the aces here.
Having defeated the Crows by 10 points at Marvel late last season despite playing some regular football, the much-improved Blues front up with winning momentum and its twin towers in Harry McKay and Charlie Curnow are in excellent form.
Suggested Bet: Carlton -21.5 at $1.91
Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Carlton -21.5
Leg 2: C. Curnow 3+ goals
Leg 3: Total points scored over 174.5
Combined odds = $4.75
