brisbane vs. cronulla

april 28th 7:50pm

Cronulla will try to build on its winning momentum when it faces the Brisbane Broncos on Thursday night.

The Sharks used a first-half blitz to get over the line against Manly last week as it hold fort for a 34-22 win, which was good enough to see them latch onto fourth spot on the table.

Brisbane is going to have a tough time holding off this Sharks outfit.

Even though it had a good win against the Bulldogs in Round 7, hard to see it getting anywhere near this in-form Sharks team.

Suggested Bet: Cronulla -10.5 at $1.87

gold coast vs. penrith

april 29th 6:00pm

The Penrith train rolls into Robina when the Panthers take on the struggling Titans on Friday night.

Penrith is yet to lose a game this season and kept its incredible start to the year going by belting Canberra in Round 7.

You only have to look at the betting in this contest to see how far apart the Panthers and Titans are talent wise and on form.

Little to no hope of Penrith coughing this up.

Suggested Bet: Penrith Panthers -22.5 at $1.90

new zealand vs. canberra

april 30th 3:00pm

After an embarrassing 70-10 loss on ANZAC Day to Melbourne Storm, the New Zealand Warriors will try to restore some pride when they face Canberra in Round 8 of the NRL season.

The Warriors were disgraceful on Monday, but there is no doubting how good the Storm have been this year and a game against the Raiders represents a much easier task.

The much-maligned Ricky Stuart is under the pump more than ever and his Raiders outfit did themselves no favours in a 36-6 loss against Penrith last week.

Tough game to pick, but backing a team which lost by 60 points last week is not the way we want go.

Green Machine to bounce back.

Suggested Bet: Canberra Raiders head to head at $1.80

canterbury vs. sydney

april 30th 5:30pm

Two teams trending in different directions meet when the Sydney Roosters play the Canterbury Bulldogs on Saturday night.

Both teams come off Round 7 losses, but it is the Roosters who have clearly had the better proceedings in in 2022 with a 4-3 win-loss record.

With the Bulldogs languishing at the bottom of the table and Trent Barret’s head being called for from all corners.

The Roosters have not lost two in a row this season and have responded strongly after every loss.

Sydney has more game winners on the pitch and is just much more trustworthy unit all round.

Suggested Bet: Sydney Roosters -13.5 at $1.86

parramatta vs. north queensland

april 30th 7:35pm

Parramatta will look to make good on its 38-2 crushing of Newcastle last week when it faces North Queensland.

The Eels were simply too good for the Knights and moved to third on the NRL table as their offensive capabilities came to the fore.

But the Cowboys flexed their offensive muscle last week as well, albeit against an out-of-form Gold Coast team.

This shapes as a cracking contest between teams hitting this game at full bore.

However, think the Eels have the edge at home.

Suggested Bet: Parramatta Eels -6.5 at $1.90

newcastle vs. melbourne

may 1st 2:00pm

Fresh off a record-breaking 70-10 win against the New Zealand Warriors, Melbourne Storm will look to pile more misery on Newcastle when the two meet on Sunday afternoon.

Ryan Papenhuyzen is in arguably career-best form and he put his name down in the history book by surpassing Cameron Smith with the highest points scored by an individual in the traditional ANZAC Day clash with the Warriors.

The Knights defence will be shaking in its boots at the proposition of facing a Storm team off a 60-point win.

Two words to the Knights; good luck.

Suggested Bet: Melbourne Storm -19.5 at $1.85

st george illawarra vs. wests tigers

may 1st 4:05pm

The resurgent Wests Tigers will bid to make it three wins on the bounce when they duel with St George Illawarra come Sunday twilight at WIN Stadium.

Sitting at 0-5 and with their season in tatters, the Tigers responded with huge upset wins over Parramatta and South Sydney in consecutive weeks, while the Dragons made it two in a row as well with wins over Newcastle and Sydney.

Wests will be sitting pretty coming into this game knowing they have beaten the Dragons in the last four outings between the teams.

The last two results at WIN Stadium have been 16-8 and 24-14 wins in favour of the Tigers, so this is happy hunting ground for them.

Suggested Bet: West Tigers head to head at $2.48
