AFL Round 6, Tips & Preview, Monday 25th April

ANZAC Day footy will take place on Monday when the traditional clash between Collingwood and Essendon is played after a battle between the Hawks and Swans.

The bugles will sound and the stands will be silent when ANZAC Day footy comes around for 2022.

On what is a day usually reserved for the traditional clash between Collingwood and Essendon, Hawthorn and Sydney will also do battle on Monday afternoon.

Hawthorn takes a trek down to Tasmania for the first time in 2022 when it hosts Sydney at UTAS on ANZAC Day this Monday.

The Hawks scored a famous victory in their traditional Easter Monday clash with long-time foe Geelong.

Sydney, meanwhile, romped to a 10-goal win over a depleted West Coast outfit last week to hold firm in fifth spot.

Sam Mitchell has turned this Hawks team into a competitive unit and we know how much this mob loves playing down in Tassie.

The Swans probably have the edge from a talent perspective and that will obviously take them a long way in this match.

Buddy Franklin is expected to make his return from a fractured finger, which only bolsters the Swans chances.

Suggested Bets: Sydney -10.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Sydney -10.5
Leg 2: L. Franklin 2+ goals
Leg 3: I. Heeney 2+ goals
Leg 4: Total score under 167.5
Combined odds = $6

essendon vs. collingwood

april 25th 3:20pm

Surely an ANZAC Day fixture against one of its biggest rivals is enough to spur on Essendon into a response when it meets Collingwood in front of a packed MCG.

The Bombers have looked shell-shocked and void of answers having slipped to 1-4 through the first five rounds.

Ben Rutten’s return from COVID protocols was an ugly one as his side were battered Fremantle last week, while the Pies pushed Brisbane all the way at the Gabba.

Essendon did take home the four points on both occasions it might Collingwood last season, but the Pies look much better team under Craig Mcrae this time around.

Having said that, the Bombers do get back Jake Stringer and Zach Merret – two massive inclusions.

Maybe the Bombers can invoke a return to form with those two big names back on the field.

Suggested Bet: Essendon head to head at $2.40

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Essendon head to head
Leg 2: J. Stringer 20+ disposals
Leg 3: J. Stringer anytime goal
Leg 4: Z. Merrett 30+ disposals
Combined odds = TBC
