NRL Round 6 is upon us and the BetDeluxe NRL experts have found all the best bets ahead this weekend’s league action.
south sydney vs. canterbury
april 15th 4:00pm
South Sydney and Canterbury do battle as old heads of the NRL fight it out on Friday night.
The Rabbitohs will be looking an important points differential boost against a Bulldogs squad which has taken a throwback to its horrible form of 2021.
Canterbury has leaked like a rusty tap over the last fortnight against superior opposition in Melbourne and Penrith.
It will not get any easier against last year’s grand-finalist.
Rabbitohs will pack more than enough punches to make this a double-figure margin.
Suggested Bet: South Sydney -10.5 at $1.89
penrith vs. brisbane
april 15th 7:55pm
As far as the beginning of a premiership defence is concerned, there is not better team in the NRL at the moment as the Penrith Panthers charge towards the Brisbane Broncos in round six.
The Panthers have gone five wins from five matches to being their quest towards a consecutive premiership, while the Broncos, despite going a recruiting spree in the off-season, are still trying to find their feet.
Penrith easily accounted for the Bulldogs and barely got out of first gear in the 32-12 win.
Ivan Cleary and his troops continue to send ominous warning to the NRL that they have actually improved on last season.
Broncos captain Adam Reynolds will provide leadership and guidance against this scarily good Panthers outfit, but it is unlikely to surmount in a win.
The Panthers should win, but the line does look a little overstated.
Suggested Bet: Brisbane Broncos +21.5 at $1.90
manly vs. gold coast
april 16th 5:30pm
Life without Tom Trbojevic for the Manly Sea Eagles will commence for a period when they prepare to face the Gold Coast Titans.
‘Turbo Tom’ is set to miss four to six weeks after undergoing knee surgery and his presence will be missed against the Titans.
Even with their star full back in the team, the Sea Eagles have struggled for winning form this season.
Without him, it only makes matters worse and the Titans can easily cause the home team a heap of headaches.
Suggested Bet: Gold Coast Titans head to head at $2.50
melbourne vs. cronulla
april 15th 7:35pm
Injuries be no hinderance when Melbourne Storm looks set to continue its winning form against Cronulla this weekend.
The Storm have dealt with a spate of injuries as they always do and currently sit third with a 4-1 winning record on the season.
Cronulla, meanwhile, is going to prove tough opposition.
The Sharks have looked a genuine finals and top four contender through the early parts of 2022.
Sharing an identical record to the Storm, but a better point differential, has it sitting second on the table behind Penrith.
The knock on Cronulla’s form is the strength of opposition it has defeated throughout the first five rounds.
The Sharks did belt Wests Tigers in impressive fashion last week, the Storm, however, are a completely different beast.
Suggested Bet: Melbourne Storm -7.5 at $1.84
sydney vs. new zealand
april 17th 2:00pm
It is an Easter Sunday clash between Sydney and New Zealand from the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Sydney put its season back on track with a big come-from-behind triumph over Brisbane last week which it won 24-20 to plonk itself in fifth spot on the table with a 3-2 winning record.
But the real heart-stopper of Round 5 was left for New Zealand as it overcame North Queensland with a 25-24 victory.
The Warriors will have to deal with the storm of off-field sanctions bestowed upon Marcelo Montoya who will miss this game plus another three after being banned for an offensive slur.
With the focus being away from rugby for the Warriors this week, surely the distraction is enough for the Roosters to post a win.
Suggested Bet: Sydney -13.5 at $1.90
st george illawarra vs. newcastle
april 17th 4:05pm
Two teams looking to extract themselves out of the bottom wrung of the NRL table go head to head when St George Illawarra takes on Newcastle.
The injury-plagued Knights have lost three in a row heading into this clash after a two-game winning streak to begin the season.
The Dragons, meanwhile, were left squandering after their fourth loss on the trot, but did show some improvement in the loss to South Sydney last week.
A clash between former teammates in Ben Hunt and Adam Clune will provide the spark for this match and whoever can gain the ascendancy in output will the barometer for their respective team.
Hunt has started the year with a bang despite the 1-4 losing record, whereas Clune has not has the same sort of support around him due to injuries.
Expect Hunt to set up a handful of tries as the Dragons charge to victory.
Suggested Bet: St George Illawarra -2.5 at $1.90
parramatta vs. wests tigers
april 18th 4:00pm
Parramatta will sense an opportunity to inflict some serious damage when it faces a struggling Wests Tigesr outfit on Easter Monday.
The Eels have been sent in as one of the strongest favourites for round six with the market setting a line of -20.5 in favour of the home team.
Wests just have no where near the class required to handle teams on the verge of making of the top four and pushing for a premiership.
With Parramatta sitting 4-1 and in need for a point differential boost, this game shapes as the perfect chance to climb its way up into the top three.
With match winners and try scorers all over the park, if the winning margin for the Eels was anything less than the current $1.90 line, it would be a shock.
Suggested Bet: Parramatta Eels -20.5 at $1.90
