Canberra will try to extract revenge when it faces North Queensland on Thursday night at GIO Stadium in the BetDeluxe NRL Game of the Round.

The Raiders suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of the Cowboys back in Round 2 after going down 26-6 Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

It was a disappointing result for the Raiders who were sent in as favourites and since then it has been tough going.

Canberra has lost its last two games after an epic comeback against Gold Coast three weeks ago.

North Queensland, meanwhile, has slid its way into the top eight, but is coming off a gut-wrenching golden-point loss to New Zealand last weekend.

It surely is enough to take the wind out of the sails, but there is some hope for optimism with Coen Hess set to return from a shoulder injury.

The Raiders need to put on the defensive clamp in this game, given how dangerous the Cowboys offence can be on its day.

Predicting the Cowboys to cover the line again.

Suggested Bet: North Queensland +4.5 at $1.85

canberra vs. north queensland

total points scored under 40.5

With Ricky Stuart and his troops likely to put a certain focus on defence, we expect this game to under 40.5 points.

The first game between these teams this season went up to 32 points.

North Queensland scored 26 points in the win, and it is hard to see it getting close to scoring something near that away from home.

Expect a tight low-scoring contest.

Suggested Bets: Total points under 40.5 at $1.88

Manly vs. canberra

same game multi

Nick Cotric did not play for the Raiders last time they faced the Cowboys, so he will be keen to get at their defence.

We will add him into the multi to score a try alongside our line and total points scored selections.

With Canberra also likely to focus on defence, we will throw in the Cowboys to score under 14.5 points.

Juicy odds to find out if this one can get up.

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: North Queensland +4.5
Leg 2: Total points scored under 40.5
Leg 3: N. Cotric anytime try scorer
Leg 4: North Queensland total points under 14.5
Combined odds = $26
