preview

What has become a Good Friday tradition ensues for another season when North Melbourne hosts the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.

The Roos will not exactly have fond memories the last time they played the Bulldogs in this clash.

It was a record 128-point thumping as Josh Bruce bagged 10 goals to down the Roos.

But Bruce will not be part of this Bulldogs line-up this year, so Roos fans can breath easily, for now.

North showed plenty of grit in its close loss to Sydney at the SCG last weekend and it a much-improved effort from its pitiful display against Brisbane the week prior.

With the Bulldogs struggling for form after being handed their third defeat of the year by Richmond, four points is simply a non-negotiable for them against this young Roos squad.

There is much question about the Dogs’ ability to handle tall forwards and find goals outside of Aaron Naughton.

That being said, the handball-centric style of the Bulldogs should be able to slice its way through North’s defence.

But if the Roos can display what they did last week, they can definitely cover the line with ease.

Suggested Bets: North Melbourne +31.5 at $1.90

total points over 164.5

The last two games between these teams saw the score exceed 164.5 points.

Round 16 last year the teams combined for 187 points and the Good Friday game was a whopping 206 points.

With the roof closed and conditions kept at bay, expect goals galore here.

Suggested Bets: Total points scored over 164.5 at $1.87

As usual, taking our selections at the line and total points scored is the first box to tick.

Want to also add in Jack Ziebell who produced some strong numbers on the disposal front against Western Bulldogs last season.

Aaron Hall notched up 31 disposals the last time he played against the Dogs, so he is worth putting into the multi as well.

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: North Melbourne +31.5
Leg 2: Total points overs 164.5
Leg 3: J. Ziebell 20+ disposals
Leg 4: A. Hall 25+ disposals
Combined odds = $9.50
