Swan Hill Tips & Previews, Monday 11th April

The racing week begins at Swan Hill with eight races on the program for Monday racing as the BetDeluxe team finds all the best bets.

Monday racing from Swan Hill means the team at BetDeluxe looks to begin the week with a bang.

Eight races near the border and the best bets are in to begin another week of horse racing.

swan hill race 2

#2 booker tee

Booker Tee looks ready to dig it.

He is still a maiden as a four-year-old gelding, but looks set to breakthrough for a victory after some nice jump outs in the lead up to this resuming run.

His most recent race start came over the mile against a horse called Gunstock, who progressed all the way to the VRC Derby last spring, so the form line looks strong.

No doubt he will be better the further he gets in distance, but he has shown enough sharpness at the jump outs to suggest he is more than capable of beating this plain field.

Harry Coffey will be riding with confidence as well after taking out the Terang Cup yesterday.

Suggested Bet: Booker Tee win at $2.30

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 2, 3, 6

swan hill race 3

#3 monsoon reins

Monsoon Rains has been building nicely into his preparation, however, he has just found his two resuming runs unsuitable.

Drawing wide barriers has seen him get dragged back to last when resuming, which all but ruined his chances of winning and his last start saw him press forward from a wide and it gassed him out.

He will now be peaking third-up from a fitness perspective and should enjoy a nice run from the middle pin dropping back to a fast-run 975-metre race.

Think this horse will be better served being ridden with a sit in behind what looks to be a hot early speed.

Lachlan King can have last crack at them here with the Swan Hill straight playing well enough to horses who can find the golden lanes out wide.

Suggested Bet: Monsoon Reins win at $3.10

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 3 & 7

swan hill race 5

#1 mr mischief

Backing in the favourite son of Swan Hill again in the form of Harry Coffey.

This time he takes the ride aboard Mr Mischief who drops down significantly in grade for what is a plain BM-58 staying race against some bang average opposition.

He has to carry 62kgs, but is clearly the class horse of the field and brings in a solid run at Hamilton over 2200 metres in a high-weight race.

He is now fifth-up and fitness will be no excuses for him here.

Has the base to run strongly over 2400 metres at this level and should be out of trouble from barrier eight.

Suggested Bet: Mr Mischief win at $4.4

swan hill race 6

#11 very shamus

Very Shamus was a very good winner at Swan Hill over 975 metres in BM-58 level last start.

She faces a very similar race to what she was in last start and, despite creeping up in the weights by 3kgs, she looks well placed to win again.

What bodes well for her race shape here is the ability to settle handier to the leaders than she did last start.

She was reefed to the rear of the field last start and had to make up a fair amount of ground to win.

If she can repeat than run here and find herself nestled on the leaders backs from the jump, she can run a good each-way race.

Suggested Bet: Very Shamus each-way at $8 the win and $2.70 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 8, 11, 12
