A-League Tips & Previews, Tuesday 12th April

The BetDeluxe midweek A-League preview for the best bets and selections.

The A-League season rolls on and the BetDeluxe has found all the best bets for early mid-week fixtures.

Melbourne Victory vs. BRISBANE ROAR

april 12th 7:05pm

Looking to continue its momentum after a famous Derby thrashing of its cross-town rival, Melbourne Victory welcomes Brisbane Roar to AAMI Park for a Tuesday night A-League battle.

Victory climbed its way up the A-League table and into a formidable position in the top three with its 3-0 thumping of Melbourne City and must now back it against a Roar team coming off a 1-1 draw with Western Sydney.

The Roar got away by the skin of their teeth to pinch a point after a calamitous error from Wanderers keeper Daniel Margush gifted them a penalty, which was converted at the death.

Brisbane would want to bring in better showing than what it produced against Western Sydney if it is any chance of getting close to Victory here.

Tony Popovic has his men going great guns at the moment and with no international interruptions he can field a pretty much full-strength squad.

Marcos Rojas is in ominous goal-scoring form after his two belters on Saturday night against City and expect him to be a constant threat throughout the 90 minutes.

Prediction: Melbourne Victory 2 Brisbane Roar 1

Suggested Bet: Melbourne Victory head to head at $1.80

SYDNEY FC V ADELAIDE UNITED

april 12th 7:05pm

Two stalwarts of the league go head to head when Sydney FC meets Adelaide United on Tuesday night at Netsrata Jubilee Stadium.

Both teams come off wins last weekend with the Sky Blues empathically despatching Central Coast 5-0, while Adelaide stopped its losing rot with a 1-0 win over Macarthur FC.

Sydney jumped up into fourth spot in the league and now coach Steven Corica will be looking for winning consistency as his mob eyes of finals.

The Sky Blues have the home-ground advantage in this contest and will attempt to dominate possession from the onset.

Adelaide did show plenty of defensive resolve during its win over the Bulls, so it might be a frustrating night in front of goal for the home team.

Suspect Corica’s men have enough in the tank to get the job done.

Prediction: Sydney FC 1 Adelaide United 0

Suggested Bet: Sydney FC head to head at $1.85

Western Sydney Wanderers vs. Central Coast Mariners

april 13th 7:05pm

Central Coast will do some soul searching and looks to rebound quickly when it prepares for this clash against Western Sydney on Wednesday night.

The Mariners were belted from pillar to post in a terrible 5-0 loss against Sydney FC, while Western Sydney Wanderers were the masters of their own demise after coughing a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 with Brisbane.

It’s tough to know which was the more disappointing result last week, with a costly injury-time mistake from Wanderers keeper Daniel Margush leaving coach Mark Rudan furious and Central Coast left in no man’s land.

The market is giving us the inclination that the Wanderers should be favoured having been sent out as a $2.10 favourite, but that draw last weekend would have rattled them.

Speaking of which, the draw looks the play here as both teams look to pick up the pieces.

Prediction: Western Sydney 1 Central Coast 1

Suggested Bet: Draw at $3.40

perth glory vs. wellington phoenix

april 13th 7:05pm

Somehow, someway, Perth Glory will try to put glitter on what has been a disastrous season to date when it faces Wellington Phoenix.

It was another heavy loss for the Glory last week as they were effectively dipped in a batter and fried by Newcastle to the tune of six goals to one.

Wellington, meanwhile, fought back hard and responded from a 5-0 defeat against Central Coast in the best possible fashion by belting Western United 4-1.

Jashua Sotirio netted a brace in the win and helped his side further solidify its finals credentials this season.

The Phoenix’s form reads much better than the Glory and their firepower up front is going to prove a serious handful for the Glory defenders.

Prediction: Perth Glory 1 Wellington Phoenix 3

Suggested Bet: Wellington Phoenix head to head at $2.30
