The BetDeluxe Thursday-night greyhound preview from the 12-race card at Sandown Park.

We start our night with one of the best bets coming up in the first on the program in a bid to the kitty kickstarted in the green.

sandown park race 1

#1 set me free

Set Me Free produced a career best performance when he lit up the Sandown 515-metre circuit on Sunday with a blistering 29.26 win.

He smashed the clock in that effort and showed the signs of a greyhound who is going to go on to bigger and better things as the year progresses.

It was the first time he showed breath-taking early speed as he led from start to the finish.

He draws the cherry box in this event and should no problems following the arm through and holding the lead into the first bend.

Good luck catching him if he replicates what he did on Sunday.

Suggested Bet: Set Me Free win at $2.20

sandown park race 5

#1 rio tommy

The favourite in this race brings across the West Australian form line, but would prefer to be with a dog who has been there and done it at Sandown.

The dog we are going to support is Rio Tommy.

He has been drawn out wide in his last few starts, which clearly has not been his go.

Donning the red rug from the inside gate is where we should see him at his best.

The last time he raced from box one was in a similar grade race where speared through the inside and was only run down by a smart one called Rohan Bale.

He can easily find the lead when the lids open here and should run them a merry dance heading into the home straight.

Suggested Bet: Rio Tommy each-way at $5 the win and $1.65 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 2

sandown park race 6

#2 slingshot jonesy

Warming to the form of Slingshot Jonesy who has a very good record at Sandown.

His three starts over the Sandown 515-metre circuit has registered three wins, so he knows how to handle the turns and surface of the course.

He resumed at Ballarat just over a fortnight ago after a two-month break from the races and did not much go his way in the that race.

Drawing box two in a race void of early speed looks the ideal scenario for him.

He should be able to bound from away the lids, rail up early in the piece and scorch home to the finish post.

Let’s not forget, his a Group 1 placed dog who has plenty of class on his side.

Suggested Bet: Slingshot Jonesy win at $3.4

Suggetsed Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 2, 5, 6

Sandown park race 8

#8 little bit sleek

Jacqueline Grennough brings over Little Bit Sleek for her Victorian debut.

The lightly-raced two-year-old bitch has had six starts in NSW for three wins and brings over some strong Sydney-metro form.

She is the naught on the roulette wheel in this event and, despite having just over two months away from the racing scene, she has the capacity to cross this field from the wide box.

Her two Wentworth Park wins prior to the mini spell were sensational six-length and seven-length victories in sharp time.

If Grennough has her revved up, she can smash this field to bits.

Market has kept her very safe and we are respecting that here.

Suggested Bet: Little Bit Sleek win at $4.4
