The BetDeluxe team goes through the best bets for a Friday night double-header when rivals Adelaide and Port Adelaide clash as do the Demons and Bombers.

Head to head, same game multis and all the markets you need to be across for the Friday night double-header.

Melbourne versus Essendon and Adelaide versus Port Adelaide, let’s go!

melbourne vs. essendon

preview

Melbourne will attempt to keep its winning start to the season on track when it faces Essendon at the MCG on Friday night.

A gritty win against Gold Coast saw the Demons move to 2-0 and in full control of its premiership defence, but they will be without Jake Lever.

The injury concern might be a worry for coach Simon Goodwin, but it pales in comparison to what Ben Rutten has to deal with.

Essendon confirmed Zac Merrett will miss at least eight weeks following syndesmosis surgery to ankle injury he suffered in the loss to Brisbane last week.

There were already question marks over how strong this Bombers midfield was at full strength and without Merrett as well as Kyle Langford, the Melbourne midfield has cards in hand to dominate this contest.

Essendon will get back star youngster Nic Martin who impressed on debut in Round 1 with five goals.

However, the hardened duo of Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver could have the ball on a string here, which is no surprise given how well they have started the season.

A 0-3 record is on the cards for the Bombers.

Suggested Bets: Melbourne -26.5 at $1.87

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Melbourne -26.5
Leg 2: C. Oliver 30+ disposals
Leg 3: C. Petracca 30+ disposals
Leg 4: B. Fritsch 2+ goals
Combined odds = $5.5

adelaide vs. port adelaide

preview

A showdown between Adelaide and Port Adelaide with both teams at 0-2 makes for a huge clash at Adelaide Oval on Friday night.

It is safe to say Port Adelaide has been the more disappointing of the two after its Round 1 loss to Brisbane was compounded by a 66-point belting at the hands of Hawthorn last week.

The pre-season niggles for Ken Hinkley’s men are clearly rearing their heads at the moment and injuries have decimated what could very well be a genuine top four team.

Charlie Dixon will miss after suffering a training setback and Robbie Gray is in isolation.

Adelaide has its biggest chance of putting an end to a losing streak against Port which dates back to 2019.

The Crows were too inefficient in their 42-point loss to Collingwood last week, but with some cleaning up of their forward 50 entries, there is every chance they can get the premiership points against this depleted Port team.

At $1.90 for the +20.5, the Crows are worth a ticket.

Suggested Bets: Adelaide +20.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Adelaide +20.5
Leg 2: B. Keays 30+ disposals
Leg 3: J. Rachele 2+ goals
Leg 4: M. Georgiades 2+ goals
Combined odds = $9.50
