Benalla Tips & Previews, Tuesday 29th March

The racing week at BetDeluxe starts with a preview of the eight-race card pitted for Tuesday's meeting where our team finds all the best bets.

Tuesday racing from Benalla kicks off the week for the BetDeluxe racing previews.

The best bets and selections on the eight-race card are in.

benalla race 1

#6 explosive picture

Explosive Picture has put together three solid jump outs heading into her first ever run as a race horse.

It is unlikely she will be lacking the fitness to run a strong race, given all her jump outs have been over 900 metres.

Her jump outs were spaced in three to three week blocks which will allow her to build up a nice base of fitness.

She will start from barrier eight of eight, which may not seem ideal, but get the inkling the stable is going to press forward from the wide gate.

Looks the each-way play in a race where the favourites seem a touch vulnerable.

Suggested Bet: Explosive Picture each-way at $7.5 the win and $2.15 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 6 & 11

#13 lady of light

Lady Of Light is a beautifully-bred filly who is by staying Blackfriars.

It is no surprise she debuts over 1400 metres with her best form likely to come as she steps up in distance.

Have been very wary of what she has produced at the jump outs in the lead up to this debut race.

The stable has kept her revs well down in the country jump outs with her first being a very quiet ninth out of 10 runners.

It was the second jump out which caught our attention as she travelled strongly on the bridle and was eager to take gaps through the field, but was restrained all the way to the finish line.

Think there is a plenty in the tank to attack a race like this with great verve.

Taking a punt with her over the exposed form.

Suggested Bet: Lady Of Light win at $3.60

#8 presser

Was strongly in the market at his second career start, but just found the going a bit tough when running over the mile for the first time.

That effort over 1600 metres at Ballarat is sure to have brought him on perfectly from a fitness perspective.

He was asked to commit to a strong mid-race surge, which would have left him a little vulnerable late in the race.

He has the distinct advantage over the current favourite Extreme Emotion who is yet to have a run over this distance through her four career runs.

He does also get the winkers for the first time in a bid to keep his concentration levels up.

Suggested Bet: Presser win at $2.45

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 8/ 4, 9, 11, 14/ 4, 9, 11, 12, 14

benalla race 7

#3 drop the mic

Drop The Mic is going to be camping and stalking the leaders from a perfect barrier.

He has been building back up towards full fitness after having nine weeks off and his two runs back have shown elevation from run to run.

A third-place effort at BM-70 last start is what he brings into this race and it was a strong run behind the city-performed Influential Jack.

Dropping down in grade looks ideal and this race seems much weaker than what he faced at Geelong on March 19.

Very hard to beat.

Suggested Bet: Drop The Mic win at $3.10

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 3, 9, 12
