The BetDeluxe Thursday-night greyhound preview from the 12-race card at Sandown Park.

Plenty of value bets on the program and one in the first races piques our interest.

#5 barooga boy

Barooga Boy has resumed with two solid runs at the country and provincial racing scene.

He looks ready to spike third-up into his campaign getting up in distance onto a track he has run well at prior to his three-month spell.

Box five can often present the danger of being squished and buffeted for a run, but there does not look to be a heap of pace in this event.

He is armed with dangerously quick across early and mid sectionals that can make him a menace to beat in these types of races.

Both his runs over this distance have seen him settle no worse than second in the run and, with race experience now under his belt, we expect him to be settling in a similar position but having a stronger finish on him.

An early bet of the night for the punters.

Suggested Bet: Barooga Boy win at $3.60

#6 kelsey bale

Taking a strong set against the favourite Fearless Rory and siding with Kelsey Bale.

Fearless Rory threw his race away last week by missing the kick and it is the trait of a dog who does not justify a $2.30 price tag in this event.

He has the runs on the board to be winning, but so does Kelsey Bale.

With a lack of genuine early toe in this race, she should be able to get a nice cart across from box six and use her mid-race burn to put this race away.

A replica of her 29.38 win here back on February 27 would see her very hard to run down.

Suggested Bet: Kelsey Bale win at $2.70

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 6/ 1/ Field

#8 deep witts

The running of the Warragul to Sandown final sees Deep Witts come up a second favourite.

Given the way he has won at Warragul in his last two starts, it was a surprise not to see him marked as the favourite.

His times have been blistering with wins in 25.52 and 25.87, which rates about three to four lengths fast than the current favourite.

He is a no nonsense dog that jumps fast, finds the front and keeps running.

Should be able to ping across from the pink and be the one to chase down.

Suggested Bet: Deep Witts win at $3.40

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 5, 8

Sandown park race 7

#3 grace's spirit

Having a nibble at Grace’s Spirit to knock off the odds-on favourite Jarick Bale.

She has been running well without winning in her last few starts, but it was her most recent effort from box four which gave us the indication she could win her next start.

She ran on strongly from the rear half of the field after being buffeted back to near last from the boxes.

Racing on the four-day back up shows us she has pulled up well from the run.

If she can somehow manufacture a run ahead of the favourite heading towards the first bend, with her residual fitness across this distance range, they will all have trouble reeling her in.

We can have an each-way punt at the price.

Suggested Bet: Grace’s Spirit each-way at $8 the win and $1.90 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 2 & 3
