Eight races greet us for racing at York in Western Australia.
The BetDeluxe racing analysts have done the hard yards to find the best bets across the Nullabor.
York race 1
#2 The God SOng
This is a big step back in class for The God Song.
The three-year-old filly trained by Darren Taylor has only had three career starts and two of her most recent runs have come in town.
She has raced at Belmont at her past two starts and acquitted herself to a standard capable of easily winning at country-maiden level.
She has got fitness on her side, a soft barrier and a good four track which she will appreciate.
Suggested Bet: The God Song win at $2.15
Suggested Exotic: Quinella 2 & 4
york race 3
#2 brave contender
The best of the day comes up with Brave Contender in the third.
He has to go up in weight for having been dropped down in class to a much easier race than he faced at Albany.
That weight impost should be offset by the booking of gun WA jockey Chris Parnham.
This horse was making a very sharp rise in distance from 1000 metres to 1500 metres last start and probably just felt the pinch having not been conditioned to run out at that range.
Coming to 1300 metres looks ideal and hoping Parnham can be positive from the barrier.
Tough to beat if he settles within three to five lengths of the leaders.
Suggested Bet: Brave Contender win at $2.65
york race 6
#8 orange strudel
Having a strong win bet on Orange Strudel who find herself in a suitable race.
This eight-year-old mare grows a leg when she races at York.
She has had four starts at the York track for two wins and two placings, which is a fantastic strike rate.
She was a bit unsuited by her circumstances last start when having to drop down from 1400 metres to a much sharper 1100-metre event.
It looks as though that run with a tick-over job for keeping her fit and getting her back up in distance.
Stepping to 1200 metres here looks perfect and she will get the ideal trailing run with cover in behind the leaders.
Suggested Bet: Orange Strudel win at $4.60
york race 8
#8 apache rabbit
Lucy Warwick gets the chance to find that elusive second-career win for Apache Rabbit.
This mare has been building towards a big run this campaign and with this being her sixth run, she will be hitting peak fitness.
She has gradually improved with each effort and was solid enough last start to be winning a race like this.
Her trial between runs was actually one of her better bits of work and she can go on with it here.
Suggested Bet: Apache Rabbit each-way at $5 the win and $2 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Exacta 8 & 7
