newcastle jets vs. macarthur
february 26th 5:05pm
The fourth clash in A-League history between Newcastle and Macarthur goes ahead when the two meet at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday.
The Bulls have steadily climbed their way to third on the table after a dogged 1-0 win over Perth Glory despite being down to 10 men.
Newcastle, meanwhile bounced back from its 3-0 loss against Melbourne City with a 1-0 win over Western Sydney.
The Jets are yet to record a win over the Bulls in the A-League, but they are the favourites to finally get that elusive win out of the way.
Arthur Pappas has overseen a much better season for the Jets than what they dished up last year and their football has been competitive for the better part.
This has the makings of a tightly-contested outing, so we will back the draw.
Prediction: Newcastle 2 Macarthur 2
Suggested Bet: Draw at $3.50
adelaide united vs. central coast mariners
february 26th 7:45pm
Central Coast Mariners will try to turn a week of misfortune around when it heads over to Coopers Stadium for a battle against Adelaide United.
The Mariners were plain and simply robbed of a point against Melbourne City after a disgraceful penalty decision was paid against them, prompting outrage from the almost everyone involved in the league.
This weekend is going to be a true test of the Mariners’ resolve under coach Nick Montgomery against a Reds team who will be seeking to rebound off a 4-1 drubbing against Macarthur.
The Reds do have the home advantage and are the slight favourites for this one, but the football Gods might just swing the result in favour of the luckless Mariners.
Backing in some karma and going with the visitors here who deserve a result for their recent form against the big clubs in the league.
Prediction: Adelaide United 1 Central Coast Mariners 2
Suggested bets: Central Coast Mariners head to head at $3.40
sydney fc vs. melbourne city
february 26th 7:45pm
Melbourne City can make it five wins in the last six games when it faces Sydney FC at Nestrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday night.
Patrick Kisnorbo and his men have finally found their groove this season and have began their charge up towards the summit of the A-League table to sit second coming into this weekend.
Sydney, meanwhile, has been wildly inconsistent and had its four-game unbeaten brought to a halt after being downed 1-0 by league-leader Western United.
The frustrating thing for coach Steve Corica is his men are capable of playing some of the best football in the league, but they sporadically decide to play it.
City is the more trustworthy team at the moment and represent great value at the head to head market.
Prediction: Sydney FC 1 Melbourne City 2
Suggested bets: Melbourne City head to head at $2.15
perth glory vs. western united
february 27th 6:45pm
It is down south the Apple Isle for Western United as it prepares for its fixture with Perth Glory from UTAS in Launceston.
The black and green army have had a stellar season to date under way John Aloisi and lead all comers in the league with 26 points from 13 games.
United come into this game as the favourite after Glory fell 1-0 to Macarthur on Wednesday.
Perth will be without marquee forward Daniel Sturridge who injured his groin in he loss to the Bulls and coach Richard Garcia could only vent his frustration on the matter.
Everything seems to be falling into place for United ahead of this clash and its form is too good to be against.
Prediction: Perth Glory 1 Western United 3
Suggested bets: Western United head to head at $2.10
western sydney wanderers vs. wellington phoenix
february 27th 6:45pm
A seven-game unbeaten run is on the cards for Wellington Phoenix when it faces a struggling Western Sydney outfit on Sunday evening.
The Phoenix have not lost a game since a 4-0 defeat against Adelaide on New Year’s day this year and put themselves in finals contention.
Western Sydney, meanwhile, copped a bake from coach Mark Rudan who was disgusted with his team’s 1-0 loss against Newcastle.
Something has to give at the Wanderers as their free fall in season 2021/22 continues at a rate of knots.
The change of coach seemed to work initially, but they are still miles away from being a finals team.
The momentum of the Phoenix will be too hard to stop here.
Prediction: Western Sydney 1 Wellington Phoenix 2
Suggested bets: Wellington head to head at $3
