Terang Tips & Previews, Monday 21st February

No better to start the week with the best bets from BetDeluxe ahead of eight races from the country-racing scene in Terang.

The beginning of the racing week means its time for the best bets to be reloaded as we get for eight races at Terang.

Our crew has found two best bets which bookend the program that were very hard to split.

Terang race 1

#8 volpe risorsa

Volpe Risorsa put in a terrific effort on debut over 1200 metres at Ballarat when running third in maiden grade.

The time was no exactly flash given how slowly the race was run in the early stages, but she made up significant ground from the rear of the field.

The three-year-old filly paraded like a skunk in the mounting yard and she has clearly has a stack of improvement to come.

She was very flighty and carried a lot of nervous energy to the barriers and she probably spent more petrol tickets than required during the yard and gallop towards to the barriers.

Keep an eye out for how she parades on the broadcast.

If she is cool, calm and collected in the yard, she should be winning this race.

Suggested Bet: Volpe Risorsa win at $2

terang race 2

#12 eagles and pins

Big fan of what Eagles and Pins did first-up from a spell over the mile last start.

The four-year-old mare was resuming on heavy track without race fitness and did a great job to finish as close as she did in the run to the post.

Paul Preusker has applied a set of winkers here to keep her mind on the job and getting back onto dry ground should her performance elevate here.

Perfect barrier means she should be able to get the club spot in the run with a one-out and one-back position.

Good bet on an each-way basis.

Suggested Bet: Eagles and Pins each-way at $6.5 the win and $2.35 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 5 & 12

#4 outstanding reward

Looks as though we are going to get a good price about three-year-old filly Outstanding Reward.

It all came a little bit too soon for her last preparation when she won her maiden in impressive fashion on heavy going and then failed to replicate that form in BM-64 grade.

She was spelled immediately and has come back with two very quiet jump outs.

Her jump outs, to the eye, have not been amazing, but that is not a negative by any stretch.

Likely being saved for a big effort on race day and she does have a very nice turn of acceleration for country level.

She is lightly raced and should have plenty of spring in her step.

Strong senior jockey booked upon resumption and that gives us a little bit more confidence.

Suggested Bet: Outstanding Reward win at $3.70

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 4, 5

#3 penfriend

Penfriend brings in the Zerelle form line which stood up at Moonee Valley last Friday.

She was resuming behind that mare last start when first-up over 1400 metres and was brave when finishing third.

From the yard, she seemed to have a lot up her sleeve in terms of fitness, so expect an elevation here of at least two to four lengths on what she did at Ballarat.

Looks as though she is going to get the perfect run with at trail in behind Sword of War.

Claiming apprentice Tatum Bull should be able to peel off the back of Lindsey Smith-galloper and prove too good in the concluding stages.

Making this the best of the day as we attempt to end the card on a positive note.

Suggested Bet: Penfriend win at $2.3
