Swan Hill hosts an eight-race program ahead of Tuesday racing.
A first starter has really taken the eye of our team at the jump outs and should be making it winning debut and a winning start to the day for punters.
Swan hill race 1
#10 centrefoldstar
We get a great form reference for the jump out of favourite Centrefoldstar and it gives us a huge amount of confidence.
The three-year-old filly ran second in a jump out behind stakes-performed sprinter Rainbiel after being asked to settle in behind the lead speed with cover.
She was gapped by Rainbiel in the straight, but really like the way she let down and put away the rest of her opposition without being asked for too much of an effort.
Barrier one should be a fairly simple task for Will Price; jump cleanly, hold the lead and boot clear.
Doubt the stable and jockey will want to hand up from the inside gate given the problems it can pose if being held up in straight behind tiring runners.
Suggested Bet: Centrefoldstar win at $1.95
swan hill race 3
#8 marquette
Henry Dwyer has taken his time with this daughter of Snitzel and she has shown more than enough at the trials to suggest she is capable of a big run on debut.
The three-year-old filly was spelled after her first two trials last year and has returned with a strong Burrumbeet jump out over 1000 metres and a speedy 1000-metre trial at Geelong.
Opting to approach a country maiden on debut is probably the right idea from this stable.
Get the feeling, based on the speed she showed in her jump outs, that Will Price, much like his ride in the first, will surely be nice and positive from the barriers.
The advantage this horse looks to possess over these types of distances and beyond will be her tactical speed.
Taking the punt that she will settle a pair further in front than that favourite Alontro and be too hard to reel in.
Suggested Bet: Marquette win at $3.10
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 2, 4, 8
swan hill race 6
#3 orienzel
His last win was at this very track four starts ago at Benalla when he scooted through in BM-58 with 64.5kgs on his back.
He has since raced in higher grade with his only defeat in BM-58 class since that last victory being a third-place finish on a very heavy track at Hamilton.
Interestingly, the handicapper has relieved a heap of weight off his back since carrying 64kgs at Hamilton and he now only carries 60kgs.
The market will surely cotton on to that weight drop and coming back in grade again to a 58-rating race after being well beaten in BM-64 level at Bendigo.
Barrier four is ideal and he should be a nice trailing run with cover.
Back to his home track is also big tick.
Suggested Bet: Orienzel each-way at $8.5 the win and $3.5 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 2, 3, 5
swan hill race 8
#7 redneck princess
This four-year-old mare is in very good form at the moment despite it not showing on her form sheet in the last two runs.
She was purely outclassed in city grade at Moonee Valley last start when she ran ninth behind speed machine Young Liam.
That start prior to that she had to endure a heavy track at Albury which is clearly not to her liking.
She now drops back to BM-58 grade and only has to go up 1.5kgs for her last start win in this grade.
The stable is going great guns and she will be hard to knock off with luck-in-running from barrier one.
Suggested Bet: Redneck Princess each-way at $5 the win and $1.95 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Quinella 4 & 7
