Stony Creek Tips & Previews, Monday 14th February

The racing week begins with a competitive eight-race card at Stony Creek and the best bets from the crew at BetDeluxe are scattered throughout.

Get the soul ready for a day of honing in on the eight-race card at Stony Creek.

The best bets on the program are in and the team at BetDeluxe is very confident a Phillip Stokes-trained filly will land as our best of the day.

Stony creek 1

#11 perpetual grace

Blew her chance to break maiden status last start when she bombed the start and had to make up too much ground.

Interesting to see she is now a longer price than Figo The Great who started double her price when they last met.

She is now fully race-fit and comes out of an in-form Phillips Stokes stable which continues to rack up winner after winner in 2022.

The speed map looks to set up nicely for her if the stable can iron out that barrier issue from a fortnight ago and she should be winning this race based on the talent we have seen her show.

Suggested Bet: Perpetual Grace win at $2.6

#12 Ultravox

Ultravox looks the sole leader in this event and for that reason we are confident the three-year-old filly will get the chocolates.

She was very well tried in the betting on debut when running second over this course and distance back on February 1.

She will definitely be much fitter for the run and has the perfect jockey aboard in Craig Newitt to get into the front-running role she needs to control this race.

Very hard to beat if she shows an elevation from her debut start, which we fully expect of her here.

Suggested Bet: Ultravox win at $2.20

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 6 & 12

stony creek race 6

#4 bob's relish

Taking on the odds-on favourite here and going with Bob’s Relish who is ready to win.

The David Brideoake-trained sprinter has put in two respectable runs for BM-58 level this campaign and now gets the blinkers for the first time in her career.

Apprentice jockey Sheridan Clarke comes off and we get the services of strong senior jockey Will Gordon who should be able to pop her into a nice position in the run.

What bodes well for her in this race over the favourite is the weights as well as the speed map.

The favourite has to carry a whopping 64kgs to victory in this event and we are likely going to be ahead of him in the run.

Happy to back this mare on an each-way basis.

Suggested Bet: Bob’s Relish each-way at $6.5 the win and $1.5 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 2, 4,

#2 art major

Art Major is a horse who is looking for 2000 metres from what we have seen so far this preparation.

He go up to that distance last campaign but copped a heavy-nine track and failed to make inroads.

He gets a dry track in this event and drops well back in grade from his last-start effort in BM-64 grade.

Patrick Moloney should be able to plonk into him a nice trailing run just in behind the speed.

Doubt he will be as far back as he has been in his runs this campaign and it should make him even more competitive.

Money around for him suggests he is flying back at his home stable and ready to win again.

Suggested Bet: Art Major win at $3.50

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 2 & 5
