sandown park race 1
#8 kelsey bale
The favourite will be hard to beat here, but think we have the dog to knock it off.
Kelsey Bale has made a brilliant start to her racing career with impressive wins at Horsham and Geelong.
Her most recent effort at Geelong saw her light up the clock with a 25.59 win over 460 metres in what was an almost identical time to that of the favourite in this race.
She arguably possesses more early gate speed than anything in this race and can cross from the wide box to lead the field up.
If she gets to the front without any trouble, she is the one to beat.
Suggested Bet: Kelsey Bale win win at $3.30
Suggested Exotic: Exacta 8 & 1
sandown park race 2
#1 nyah nyah flyer
A great battle for favouritism between Nyah Nyah Flyer and Aston Tango makes this an intriguing race.
We are going to side with Nyah Nyah Flyer for trainer Matthew Lannigan.
The one-year-old chaser was drawn awkwardly in box six last start at Warrnambool and never got himself into the race when being well beaten into sixth.
Drawing box one is the ideal draw for him as he can muster up through on the rail and hold the front.
He loves jumping with the cherry rug draped over him with three starts for three wins from box one.
Suggested Bet: Nyah Nyah Flyer win at $3
Sandown park race 6
#6 it's a brew
An each-way nibble on It’s A Brew looks like the play in this race.
There has already been a little bit of market support around for him, which gives us some confidence he will run well.
This race, on paper, does not look like it has too much early speed drawn inside and that could allow this Raymond Brewer-trained chaser to find the a position in or near the lead speed.
Should be able to run out the 595 metres strongly.
Suggested Bet: It’s A Brew each-way at $6.5 the win and $2.05 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 2, 4, 6
Sandown park race 8
#2 invictus rising
He bumped into star greyhound Aston Rupee last start and was well beaten in a Non-Graded race at Sandown over 515 metres.
He now drops back in Grade to G4/5 level and goes up in distance to 595 meters which is exactly what he is asking for.
A five-time winner from 11 starts over this particular distances will make him a nuisance for his rivals here.
Being drawn closer to the inside will bode much better than being drawn out wide as he was last start.
He will just need some space early in the race to wind up his big motor and scorch away from the field.
A repeat of his 33.90 run when finishing runner-up at this course and distance two starts back will almost render him unbeatable here.
Best of the night.
Suggested Bet: Invictus Rising win at $2
